Inter Milan midfielder Petar Sucic was a rare shining light in an otherwise disappointing game against Arsenal last night.
According to the Italian press via L’Interista, the 22-year-old was the only Nerazzurri player to meet expectations.
Cristian Chivu made a surprising decision to include Sucic in his starting lineup in one of the most important matches of the season.
However, Hakan Calhanoglu’s absence forced the 45-year-old manager to take drastic measures.
Still, Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s omission left many Nerazzurri supporters bamboozled.
Petar Sucic Outstanding in Inter Milan 1-3 Arsenal Heartbreak

Despite making only his second Champions League start for the club, Petar Sucic imposed himself as one of the best players on the pitch.
Indeed, the former Dinamo Zagreb starlet scored a fantastic equalizer early in the first half, sending a thunderous first-time effort into the top corner.
In doing so, he opened his European account in the Nerazzurri shirt.
Furthermore, Sucic enjoyed plenty of possession, often trying to provide a spark in the middle of the park.
Unfortunately, he ran out of steam in the closing stages of the game.

Yes it was a mistake but ultimately it was Acerbi who was basically just escorting everyone when they were running back. It was clear the guy was struggling to keep up as both Susic and Frattessi were running from deep and despite Acerbi being the last defender back he still couldn’t keep up. He did the same thing against every other top team Inter have faced with Acerbi in it and why Chivu keeps picking him up in big matches when he’s fit is still a mystery. Does Chivu wants Acerbi to literally score an own goal for the message to come across that he’s not fast in fact he’s the slowest defender Inter have right now so why use him against fast counter attacking forwards just why. Again the mistake is from Susic who was man of the match despite it but the overall systematic failure was Acerbi as he looks like he’s about to fall down when running back and visibly scared yet he gets to play 90+ minutes whenever he’s fit and in a big match. Chivu isn’t helping himself if he keeps believing that Acerbi will magically turn into Ramos or something during big matches and opponents have repeatedly exploited him over and over again.
100% agree
Yes he did mistakes at the end but for him to be placed on this match after hardly even playing as a starter he did better than anything Luis has even been able to do.
Mhiki is the best midfielder we have .
Even if his game not very much flashy , he makes everyone around him a better players…with almost “0” errors, like Zelenski /Oglu/Barrela/Sucic had.
At least 70% of Inter’s goals were generated by Mhiki !
Good luck Inter , playing without Mhiki …although I hope I am wrong.
I agree, Mhiki needs to find a better suited team … perharps Napoli.
Current Inter is embarrassing to watch.
Barella, Zielinski and Sucic should stay after this season. The rest, Mhiki up for retirement, Hakan is injured every few games, Frattesi need to be sold asap and Diouf if he doesn’t show much for the rest of the season have to be either sent on loan or sold to recover money. We don’t need players just for them to sit on the bench as extra. Stankovic and Akinsanmiro will bring much needed fresh legs and vigor in midfield. Out of players with expiring contract we already lost Timber to Marseille, Brandt is the only one left that can improve our squad. Considering he’s more oriented to attack we need a proper defensive midfielder, that’s one of the weak spots this season.
absolutely future star. The goal gave him confidence, even though probably affected the some later choices in the game but still, glad to see Sucic stepped up!
