Davide Frattesi has been attracting interest over the January transfer window and this could help Inter Milan sign a versatile attacker who has been on their watchlist since 2024.

Fratessi has been struggling this season and has only started four matches out of the 17 he has played. His average SofaScore rating for the Serie A season has been an average 6.60 and he’s failing to set the world alight as Inter fight for the title.

Recent reports have suggested the midfielder is wanted by Nottingham Forest, with the Premier League club making contact to explore whether a deal is possible.

This rumoured interest could work perfectly for Inter, who have been keen on Forest attacker Ndoye for a number of years

Inter are apparently looking for around €35m for Frattesi, whilst Forest signed Ndoye in the summer for around €40m. They have been keeping tabs on the winger since 2024, so he has been a long-term target.

The player himself would also suit their tactics, and it feels like a huge opportunity for the Serie A leaders to boost their squad for the title race.

Why Ndoye Would Be A Perfect Inter Milan Signing

The 25-year-old may be struggling for regular playing time since Sean Dyche’s appointment, but it’s been hard for any player at Forest to shine this season. Sacking two managers before October sums up their tumultuous campaign.

Despite his inconsistent form in England, Inter will know the attacker well from his career at Bologna.

During the 2024/25 campaign, Ndoye scored eight goals and picked up four assists in his 30 Serie A appearances. He also scored the crucial goal in the Italian Cup final to help Bologna lift their first trophy in 51 years.

Ndoye averaged an impressive rating of 7.12 in Serie A last season, with 1.55 successful dribbles per game and 4.69 touches in the opposition box.

He has also played as a second striker, and versatility is essential for big European squads, especially when they are playing in multiple competitions, including the Champions League.

Lautauro Martinez finished fifth in the Champions League top-scorer list last campaign, according to MyBettingSites’ article, and he’ll be battling again for the Golden Boot this year.

Having a creative attacker like Ndoye in the squad would boost Martinez’s chances of excelling in Europe’s biggest competition, and that could be the catalyst for helping Inter go one step further than they did in 2025 when they made the final.

What Inter Milan Have Been Missing This Season

Inter Milan have been scoring plenty of goals, but we have seen frailties this season, with the Nerazzurri struggling to break down defences. This happened against Bologna in the Super Cup semi-final, with Inter having 58% possession.

Despite the control of the ball, they weren’t able to score more than once, as Bologna ultimately won on penalties.

Manager Cristian Chivu has preferred a formation with three centre-backs and two wing-backs. Hence, some may raise their eyebrows at the thought of a predominantly right-winger being a top signing for the club.

Nevertheless, Ndoye has all the traits to suit the wing-back role, and his stats in Serie A proved this.

The Swiss international managed 1.09 tackles per 90, won 7.45 duels per 90 and was only dribbled past 0.50 times per 90.

For a club like Inter Milan, who rely a lot on their wing-backs for not just their defensive output, but their attacking output also, Ndoye seems like the perfect signing to help their push for the title.
