Francesco Pio Esposito capped another influential night for Inter Milan by opening up on the emotion he felt at San Siro and the bond he shares with head coach Cristian Chivu.

Speaking to RAI Sport after the 6-2 comeback win over Pisa, the 2005-born striker reflected on a moment he described as unforgettable.

Esposito began with the chants from the Curva Nord after his headed goal. “It was very, very emotional,” he said, with quotes via FCInterNews.

“Especially in this stadium that I dreamed of as a child when I wore this shirt. It’s the maximum emotion.”

The goal, which completed Inter’s turnaround, came at a crucial time and helped settle the match. That timing mattered.

“Extremely important,” Esposito said of taking the lead before the break.

“It was a reaction from a big team. In a long season you don’t always go ahead. Being able to turn it around on more complicated nights is fundamental.”

The striker then spoke warmly about Chivu.

“We’ve both said it many times,” he explained. “We grew together in football, him as a coach and me as a player. The bond is strong. He’s a real person, that’s how I’d describe the coach.”

Asked about the dressing room, Esposito highlighted the support around him. “I’m happy to hear those words,” he said.

“What I try to bring every day is dedication and effort to stay at this level with great champions. I have to thank them. They made me feel comfortable from the first second.”

On managing expectations, Esposito showed maturity. “You have to keep balance,” he said.

“If you don’t score for two or three games you’re useless, if you score you’re the future of Italy. I listen to the right amount and don’t let outside words influence me.”

Looking ahead, he kept focus narrow. “We go to Dortmund to try to get the maximum,” Esposito concluded. “Then after 90 minutes we’ll see.”
