Inter made it seven straight away wins with a 2-0 success over Cremonese, and coach Cristian Chivu pointed to maturity and adaptability as the keys to another important result.
Speaking after the match, he stressed that knowing how to suffer and manage energy levels is just as important as dominating the ball.
Chivu told Sky Sport, via FCInterNews, that what mattered most was “the win, and the maturity to understand the moments and find ways to win.”
He admitted Inter were not always sharp in possession, explaining that they were “a bit slow in the build-up because we lacked energy in attacking the line.”
However, he praised the way his side broke the deadlock before the break.
In the second half, he was calm.
“It’s normal to relax a bit because of the score and the energy levels,” adding that “it was important to win it and I’m happy because we managed to do that.”

The Inter coach also addressed the situation of Davide Frattesi, who was back in the starting eleven today.
Chivu made his stance clear: “Frattesi belongs to Inter and for me he is important in the squad. He has to show it, he has to prove it, because we trust his qualities.”
He underlined how crucial the midfielder could be later in the campaign, saying Inter “need him in top condition to give us something extra in certain matches.”
Workload management is another theme Chivu did not shy away from.
Reflecting on recent rotation choices, he said he has “given players rest even before matches and I was criticised,” but insisted that with so many competitions “the risk of injuries has to be accepted.”
The focus, he explained, remains on recovering energy as best as possible: “You can be right or wrong, but we keep going on our path.”
On the transfer window, Chivu’s message was blunt.
“We are the same 25 players from the start of the season and we’ve tried to involve everyone,” he said.
Then, adding with a smile, he said: “There’s one day left but I can’t wait for this transfer window to be over.”
Chivu Revels In Desire Of His Inter Squad
In his post-match interview with DAZN, again via FCInterNews, Chivu returned to the theme of game management.
“Maturity and finding ways to win the match. I think that’s the secret, especially when there isn’t much energy and there are many games with few rotations,” he explained.
He was pleased with the first-half execution of the plan.
He noted that Inter “pushed our game plan a bit and went two goals up by half-time.”
Meanwhile he admitted that, after the break, they “slowed the tempo and lost a bit of clarity, creating little and just managing.”
Looking ahead, Chivu said the next step is “consistency, finding ways to win, understanding the moments.”
The human toll of such a relentless schedule was not lost on him either.
With a laugh, Chivu revealed, “The other day my daughter knocked on my door at 9.30pm. I had fallen asleep watching the Europa League. I woke up in a panic thinking I was late for a meeting.”
He added that for players it is similar: “You wake up and don’t know if you’re at home or in a hotel. Football is like that and it’s beautiful.”
Chivu Impressed As Inter ‘Bring Home The Result’ At Cremonese
Chivu expanded on his thoughts in the post-match press conference, again stressing that game management remains a work in progress despite the positive result.
“It’s a dynamic I know well, I went through it myself as a player. But the key thing is growth and bringing home the result to keep being competitive.”
Chivu clarified that his frustration was not related to the flare incident involving Audero.
“No, I was referring to the fact that once again we were two goals ahead in a period with many close matches.
“It’s normal that the temptation comes to manage. Cremonese stayed in the game and caused us problems with long balls and second balls.
“We could have managed possession better, kept it longer and not rushed to play vertically. In certain moments you don’t have to think about beauty, but about being effective.”
