Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi is “happy to stay” with the Nerazzurri despite serious January interest from both Lazio and Nottingham Forest.
Frattesi’s agent, Beppe Riso, reflected on the recently closed transfer window in a lengthy interview with Tuttosport, confirming that the Italy international had options but ultimately remained fully committed to Inter.
“Lazio really tried, but other foreign clubs also came forward for Frattesi, like Nottingham Forest,” Riso explained.
“I think it’s normal that Davide wanted to play more, it’s a feeling shared by all important players.”
However, Inter’s stance never wavered.
“Inter never opened the door to a sale of Frattesi and I have to say that Davide is happy to have stayed. He’s feeling better now and is finally at 100%. I’m sure he’ll get more space and do well. There’s a special bond between Frattesi and Inter, let’s say they struggle to do without each other.”

Riso also touched on the future of another high-profile client, Sandro Tonali, who continues to attract attention, particularly from Arsenal.
“Newcastle find it hard to part with Sandro and he wants to take the club into the Champions League. These market discussions will happen later. We’ll see how the season ends and then evaluate what to do.”
Links with a possible return to Italy, including interest from Juventus, were also played down.
“There’s no preference at the moment. It’s still early. What we say today might not be valid tomorrow. Right now Newcastle couldn’t let him go and it wasn’t the right time to move, also because Sandro is very attached to the club. In the summer we’ll evaluate and decide what to do.”
