Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez continued his formidable Serie A form with a goal in yesterday’s 5-0 rout of Sassuolo.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInter1908, El Toro is already running away with the coveted ‘Capocannoniere’ award.

Cristian Chivu’s side eased past the Neroverdi at the Mapei Stadium, steering eight points clear of closest followers, AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez maintained his free-scoring league form, finding the net in his fourth consecutive Serie A appearance.

El Toro powered home an awkward half-volley at the start of the second half to put the game beyond Sassuolo’s reach, making it 3-0 for the visitors.

Furthermore, the Argentine striker has now bagged 14 goals in Serie A this term, at least six more than any other player.

On that basis, it’s hard to imagine the Nerazzurri skipper missing out on what would be his second ‘Capocannoniere’ award.

Indeed, he was Serie A’s top goalscorer when Inter last won the Scudetto in the 2023/24 season with 24 goals.
