Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu overplayed his hand in last night’s 3-1 defeat at Bodo/Glimt.
According to the Italian media via L’Interista, the 45-year-old manager shot himself in the foot.
Yesterday’s clash at the Aspmyra Stadion required a cautious and balanced approach, but Chivu may have taken it lightly.
In Chivu’s defense, he was unable to call upon Denzel Dumfries, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Davide Frattesi.
However, it wasn’t an excuse for some highly questionable starting lineup decisions.
Inter Milan Boss Cristian Chivu Flops in Bodo/Glimt Defeat

Despite urging his side not to underestimate Bodo/Glimt, Cristian Chivu may have done it himself.
Indeed, he decided to bench in-form midfielder Piotr Zielinski and high-performing defender Yann Bisseck for no good reason.
Furthermore, their replacements, Petar Sucic and Francesco Acerbi, failed to live up to expectations.
Even though a place in the Round of 16 was on the line, Cristian Chivu chose to field an experimental lineup.
Moreover, he demanded energy and cohesion from a team that barely played together this season.
It was a rookie mistake that could cost Inter a place in the next round.

Disagree, Zielinski has played a lot lately and on that pitch and with Hakan and Barella out next game it made sense to sit home. The players had to do better.
oh well.
all it means is that the return match will be attacking and exciting.
GOOD!!
The Norway team is use to the conditions and their league finished in on the 1st December…so they are fresh and fit. The had a month of training and rest for this match.
But I still think Inter will win by going all out on attack!!
i believe Chivu know what he is doing.
me too
Nope … lol
A highly naive lineup, a setup for failure.
