Inter Milan center-back Francesco Acerbi failed to live up to expectations in last night’s match against Bodo/Glimt.
According to the Italian media via L’Interista, the 38-year-old couldn’t keep up with the Norwegians’ quick transitions.
Cristian Chivu made a shocking decision to bench German star Yann Bisseck.
Despite the 25-year-old’s impressive form, he stayed on the bench last night in favor of Acerbi.
However, the former Lazio ace failed to repay the manager’s trust.
Francesco Acerbi Struggles in Bodo/Glimt 3-1 Inter Milan Defeat

The Aspmyra Stadion’s synthetic pitch amplified Acerbi’s difficulties.
Caught out of position on multiple occasions, Francesco Acerbi couldn’t cope with Bodo/Glimt’s pace.
Moreover, Jens Petter Hauge and Kasper Hogh repeatedly exploited the gaps left by the veteran defender.
Ultimately, his shaky performance contributed to the Nerazzurri conceding three goals.
Indeed, Acerbi’s struggles highlighted the defensive vulnerabilities that Inter Milan will need to address ahead of the return leg at San Siro.
However, Chivu is likely to bring Bisseck back to the starting lineup when the two sides renew hostilities next week.

Get rid of Bastoni too.
Looking at the bigger picture this season is good, considering some new young players, young inexperienced coach, downward form of some of our most important players and low moral at the start after the ending of last season. Biggest mistake is probably not bringing some quality players who can impact the game immediately, whole summer i was waiting that our management replace some of the oldtimers who are way past their prime, but nothing happened and now came the time which shows blunder from lack of judgement. Most severe cases are Darmian who was injured whole season, slow to be a proper wingback and not physical enough for a cb. Acerbi was horrible this whole season, complete 180 over last season and Sommer simply is small to be effective, earlier he managed to bridge the gap with good reflexes, but now we can say that at least a third of allowed goals this season is directly his fault.
