Inter Milan’s 3-1 first leg defeat to Bodo/Glimt has left the club in serious danger of a Champions League exit that could carry significant financial consequences heading into the summer transfer window, according to Tuttosport.
The Nerazzurri earned over €185 million from their Champions League campaign last season.
Indeed, a windfall that proved instrumental in helping the club post a profit of €35.4 million.
And draw a line under years of damaging financial losses.
Including a record deficit of €246 million in 2020-21.
Inter Milan Could Miss Out On €60M+ If They Fail To Progress Past Bodo/Glimt

Failing to reach the last 16 this time around would represent a shortfall of over €60 million compared to twelve months ago.
Therefore, a gap that could prove very difficult to absorb, as per Tuttosport, via FCInter1908.
Oaktree have already earmarked substantial funds for summer investment.
Indeed, with a new goalkeeper, at least one defender, a winger should Dumfries depart, and one or two midfielders all on the wishlist.
Without the full weight of Champions League revenue behind them, however, those ambitious plans may need to be reassessed.
Furthermore, for the first time since the Covid-era sales of Hakimi and Lukaku, Inter could find themselves under pressure to sell a high-profile player simply to balance the books.

we will beat them, just watch..
we are going all in in 2nd leg. The pitch will be okay, and we will be charged up, and those nordic guys are not ao dangerous as i expected
Oak tree should please sell inter. They have failed to invest adequately into this old squad and they still expect them to make another run to the finals so they can make another 120m and refuse to spend it on the squad. Joker owners
are you for real….
Bonny, Luis, Esposito, Music
ALL young
ALL brought in by Oak tree.
music?
Sucic
I pray Inter loses the money but if it is bow out of the champions League, they should in a honourable way. what is the essence of these useless owners???!!! They only wanted to own and acquire money without doing anything towards the club interest and welfare.
These people are disasters for Inter, we want them out finally!!!
then you are supporting the wrong club bro. 1st of all this is oaktree’s 2nd full season in charge compared to other ownership who are already in place for years, they did quite well with transitioning, not putting too much ripple on the club. i guess you won’t understand how hard it is not to do that in terms of corporate world. if they did put a ripple, a lot of the club staff and management and playing staff would exodus and then what? year 0 again? start from 6th place 8th place then slowly hoping UCL qualification again?
yes. Oaktree came into the picture because Steven Zhang and Suning was unable to inject more of their own money because of China’s internal policy.
the club already incurred a reasonable amount of debt and guess what, money need to be repaid, in one way or another.
at the very least, all I can hope for is for the new stadium to proceed without any further hiccups.
also, you think everything else but player transfer’s free? how about catering? jersey for match day? transportation? salary? stadium rent? kit for players, youth sector development, scouting teams allowance etc. so so many more. winning 100m does not mean we have 100m transfer budget. 100m-cost= profit profit then is allocated, which is player bonuses, management, director bonuses, new stadium development maybe. which would mean probably around 50-65% of the profit goes to the transfer budget. PROFIT not winnings
sell that BUM Barrella! let go the old day care with acherbi, mikhaterian, Darmian !!! let the YOUNG BOYS PLAY . buy a top defender, Kone from Roma, real goal keeper. but most of all somebody should sit with that fool of a coach and let him know the next time in a Champions league match you will have Bissic, Di Marco, Diof and Zelenski outside the starting lineup you will be fired.
So if we win the league we still have to sell? it’s either fucking lying to get more views (which is awful) or the team is really financially fucked (which is way worst)…
sell barella?! what do you smoke?! you want diuof to start games and Di-marco (lol) to play every game? i wonder why inter haven’t called you
(acherbi? god bless you)
Dont talk like that for Niko. First and last warning. Bum is someone in your life over there. Niko is the heart of my team. So shut your mouth
I don’t know what you smoked but i want it too. You cannot expect players like dimarco and zielinski (however good they are) to play EVERY match, you try to play every 3 days full 90 minutes, play well and keep training too without getting injured or tired. And f*** you for wanting Barella out, yes he doesn’t have a good season but he’s been so important these last years which a lot of fans just happen to forget. Get a mind, watch the games, if we lose we lose, we suffer together too
what has been described in this article as a transfer market plan is a bare minimum, definitely not an “ambitious market plan”. In any case, irrespective of what this article suggests, we can expect a new bunch of clown players in the summer to the excitement of some delusional fans on this forum…
yet they saved massive fortune from lower salaries reg manager I am sure Inzaghi was making 9 times more than Chivu. Not to mention that no one predicted inter to even advance beyond this stage.
plus saved 40 million by not buying Lookman.
the only reason we will need to sell is we have a stadium to build and pay for.
A reality check for everyone saying that we should tank CL in favour of winning the league. Bottom line is we need this revenue stream. Winning Serie A is great and I’m all for it but to improve the team we need to continue progress to latter stages of CL. Italian sponsorship deals, tv rights, commercial revenues and league prizes are nowhere near Premier League levels. Real and Barca do double our revenue. I’m not even gonna get into pSG, let’s just say they are not a club but a political entity. So yeah we need those extra money from deep CL runs.
Doing those runs consistently would mean better deals, more money from sponsors etc.
I would also want us to progress for a sporting reasons. If we are to be considered a big club which, we are we, need to be up there with the best.
And finally, if we want a new owner, those runs will definitely be a best advertisement for someone looking to buy a football club.
these owners should leave ASAP!!! last year we earned the most and buy nobody!!! this year we earned enough and yet they want to sell so we buy nobody???? wtf is wrong this owners??? g f y s…. american s…bags
