Inter Milan suffered a disappointing elimination from the Champions League (UCL) at the hands of Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt last night.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri must excel in domestic action to shrug off the sting of their European exit.
Inter’s chances of overcoming the Norwegian champions significantly dwindled after a disappointing 3-1 loss in Bodo last week.
However, buoyed by a three-game winning home streak, the Nerazzurri had hoped to pull off their first European comeback in 15 years.
Unfortunately, Kjetil Knutsen’s side took their chances at San Siro, scoring from two of their five shots on target to secure a stunning 2-1 win.
Two Things Inter Milan Must Do to Shrug Off Champions League (UCL) Disappointment

Without the distraction of European football, Inter can now focus on winning their first domestic double since 2010.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri are leading the way in Serie A, sitting ten points clear of runners-up AC Milan following a 2-0 win at Lecce on Saturday.
Therefore, it’s fair to say that Cristian Chivu is on the verge of lifting the Scudetto in his first season in charge.
Furthermore, Inter will take on Como in a two-legged Coppa Italia semi-final tie, looking to reclaim the cup title for the first time since 2023.

It is a shame! Inter manager Chivu and players have to be responsible for this complete defeat by a tiny team. Lautaro, Barella, Dimarco, and Bastoni deserve to win UCL, but inexperienced Chiu has destroyed everything. I am afraid that Lautaro won’t win UCL when he stays Inter. He will be 30 years old, not young. This Inter was built by Simone Inzaghi. Chivu’s value addition is minimal. This Inter team is weak in defense and lacks of motivation and hunger. Chivu is just new and does not know how to defeat big teams as well as how not to lose to mediocre small teams. If he wins both Serie A and Coppa Italia this season, Inter should keep him next season. If not, Inter has to kick his ass!!! It is time to bring back Mourinho / Simeone!!!
It will actually be the only double we ever had. The 2010 was a trebble. So it will be historic if we win the domestic double
What is “historic” here is Inter’s elimination by Bodo Glimt; we have been 3 time European champions, regular UCL contender recently including the finals in 2023 and 2025 and are one of Europe’s financial and historical football giants
Bodo, on the other side, come from a much smaller league, have a much smaller budget and much more limited reputation compared to Inter. So, unfortunately, this will long be remembered as historic, thanks to the incompetent coach and delusional and stingy ownership.
ffs.
past glory or performance has absolutely no impact when it comes to head to head.
We played over 2 leg, we lost both match. thats it.
having a history or having a bigger budget doesn’t means we have any real advantage on the pitch; only in the eyes of bookmakers.
I stand my ground. I hope for the double and that will be HISTORIC. As it will be the first domestic double for my team. I’m proud of my team. They got eliminated. Ok. They got eliminated from Helsingborg 25 years ago in the 3rd qualifying round of ch. league with Recoba missing the chance to level the tie from a penalty in the 90th minute of the second game. So 0-1 on agg. Nothing changes how i feel about my team. I will not spit hate on them for loosing. I think it was Shankly that once said: “if you cant support us when we lose or draw, dont support us when we win”
Forza Inter
My God get off your high moral ground. We are on this site because we love this team and want to read news about them. We have every right to be disappointed and bitter over real poor showing vs Bodo. We also have every right to criticize American owners who don’t give a single f*** except bringing more money to them. Each and every one of us here wants our team to be the best they can be, we have in some positions world class options, but somewhere there are options which wouldn’t be in starting lineup of first 10 teams in Seria A.
I think this was some insider agreement between Chivu and the leading players to sacrifice CL, and to win the scudetto so that they can annoy Oaktree that they need to clearly see they need big investments into the squad for summer. It was obviuous they didnt sign anyone he wanted, not even a proper RWB ffs which he asked for. Thats why he played with mixed roster in the first game.
I don’t believe this. If a coach conspires with players to purposely lose, than all of them need to be shipped out.
I get you, but look a little closer at facts. Why would even a rookie manager which really through all season played aggresive, play weak in both games, why would he rotate the squad so much at one of the worst and difficult away matches in whole CL where even Atletico and City lost points? Not even the players or the manager had the aggresive body language, also not really felt guilty for being out of the competition. Inzaghi played a final last year, we received 130million in revenue and chivu was revarded with mediocre players which he didnt wanted at all. He would be mad to give his heart out for the CL, has a 2,5 m contract, old downgrading squad and maybe risk losing the scudetto. Like this he will get a new contract, and can easily now argument that the squad debth was the reason they didnt advance in the CL, get players finally which he wants, and built from there. Chivu aint so dumb, he knows exactly what he is doing, he learned from the best, Mourinho. With these American shitheads you will be rewarded with nothing for bringing money in, develop youngsters into stars which will eventually be sold for a lot of money again in the pocket of the american pricks. And if you dont bring money you will anyway be sacked. Like this he looks even better manager then Inzaghi in his first year with worse players, and will be rewarded with everything he wants in the summer. For me its a clear insider agreement between him Bastoni, Lautaro, Barella and Dima.
Nah man, you cant do shit to them. Chivu is a rookie manager who will win the scudetto at year 1, not even the best managed that. He is payed like a tookie manager, he didnt get any player he wanted, and still doing great in Italy cuz finishing at the top 4 is priority for oaktree. He will win it and argument always that he didnt get the players he wanted, like this he will get a new contract and make pressure to get him better players cuz we need him more then he needs us. If they dont want to give him players he can always say no problem now after i have ste scudetto at first year there are many clubs which want me. Next, why would he play all season aggresive against every club but not in this 2 games, where at the maybe most difficult pitch and away game in the CL he rotates so much the squad? Why did not even he nor the players have the body language that they want to win, and are agressive and want to bite? Not even in the press conference you see that they are sad. Inzaghi played 2 finals and was rewarded with shit, we received 130m in revenue last season and had a net-zero mercato. Thats the reward for bringing money into the club and success. Chivu is a rookie but he is not dumb, he knows exactly what he is doing cuz he learned from the best, Spaletti, Gasperini, Mourinho. He wont make the mistakes which others make, thats why he sacrificed the CL, but at least he is nr.1 in his city.
A pure insider agreement between Lautaro, Barella, Dima and Bastoni and Chivu in my eyes.
