Inter Milan are reportedly open to letting second-string goalkeeper Josep Martinez stay at the club as a backup option.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri will sign a new shot-stopper in the summer.
Yann Sommer has been Inter’s first-choice keeper over the past three years.
However, the 37-year-old is in the autumn of his career, and his deal at San Siro expires at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, the Serie A pacesetters have already decided not to offer him a contract renewal.
Inter Milan to Keep Josep Martinez as Backup Goalkeeper

Despite shelling out nearly €15 million to sign Martinez from Genoa in 2024, the Spaniard has largely played second fiddle at San Siro.
Therefore, Inter could part ways with the 27-year-old in the summer.
Yet, it’s worth noting that the Nerazzurri are willing to keep him as long as he doesn’t ask for a sale.
Nevertheless, it doesn’t change the fact that Cristian Chivu’s side will sign a new goalkeeper.
Tottenham Hotspur star Guglielmo Vicario remains the club’s top target.

How is Sommer ahead of this guy anyway?????? this is insane. He should leave inter. He has not been treated fairly to be honest. He deserve much more. No way Sommer is close to be better than this guy…
The real problem of inter is the management. A bunch of clueless bozos. Vicario that they are trying to invest 25 plus millions for is not better than Martinez. Martinez might actually be better. We need at least 2 to 3 defenders, revamp the milfield and at least one attacker. it is like they love to waste money… If this is true then I dont understand
safe to say then that he hasn’t convinced anyone at the club then.
