Inter Milan have added Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza to their summer shortlist, with the former Barcelona man emerging as an attractive free transfer option as the Nerazzurri plan their defensive recruitment ahead of next season.
Mingueza has been a consistent performer for Celta Vigo since joining from Barcelona in 2022.
This season he has contributed one goal and three assists across 1,345 Liga minutes.
Meanwhile also featuring regularly in the Europa League.
His contract expires this summer.
His current salary, including bonuses, is understood to be under €800,000, making him an exceptionally cost-effective target.
The appeal for Inter lies in his versatility, as per L’Interista.
Inter Eye Move For Celta Vigo Defender Mingueza

Mingueza is equally comfortable operating on either flank, offering Cristian Chivu genuine tactical flexibility.
The plan would see Carlos Augusto continue as Bastoni’s deputy in the back three, while Mingueza provides cover for both Dimarco and Dumfries on the flanks, a two-for-one solution that suits Inter’s current model perfectly.
Crucially, his arrival would not be dependent on what happens with Denzel Dumfries or Luis Henrique.
Given the minimal cost involved, Inter could pursue Mingueza regardless of how those situations develop.
Juventus were linked with the Spaniard in January but ultimately pivoted toward Roma’s Celik, leaving the field open for the Nerazzurri to move.

Most big team in Europe play 4 back so it would mean our players aren’t that hood if they struggle on a 4 back. Also if we sell Thuram amd also integrate our youth we should be good. We also have Stankovic coming back and Frattesi will also ge dold. We should have enough budget to buy atleast 2 new class players in offence and a Keeper.

Finally, smart potential option to replace flanks. A player who can immediately get in the starting lineup on the right side.
I agree. He is a great full back with good ball control. He would be perfect replacement for Dumfries. Its also great he will be a free transfer without needing crazy wage bills.
Right, we’ll need a reliable backup for him also. Many here wants Luis to stay with us,, but in my opinion he isn’t a good fit with us. Playing outside his natural position, given playing time, underperformed on at least 80% of games. You can say he’s adjusting, but we waited similarly for Asllani to adjust for 3 years, in the end we got nothing, and he’s even younger than Luis, who by now should already be fully formed player. Because in general those players who play on flanks have shorter career in top clubs (of course there are always exceptions).
I think the best possible transfer is to move to a back 4 with Oscar as our right back. That way we won’t need to buy a new center back with since we only need 2 (Bastone, Akanji, Bisseck and probs Alexiou from u23). We will need a left wingforward where we will need to invest big (Rodrygo would be perfect) and put Henrigue as our right winger where he flourished in Marsaile.
Yeah, i would also like some mixing formation with 4 in back, but problem is how much would that cost, if Oaktree is willing to spend. Plus question is how quick would it need to our players to get used to playing in new formation, after years of playing with 3-5-2
Problem here is with back 4 we lose Bastoni offensive runs. Plus Dimash is not that good as a fullback. On top of it we would have to buy wingers which would cost ton of money. This would add to already long list of replacements that we will have to buy. I think 3-4-3/3-4-2-1 would be a better option. We already have most of players to play it with an exception of RW. Our midfield would need tweaking with more steel and pace. With Stankovic most likely coming back, half of the job would be taken care of.
