Sunday’s high-stakes Serie A showdown between AC Milan and Inter Milan produced a fair share of controversial moments.
According to FCInterNews, the Sports Judge has decided to fine both clubs for a chaotic finale at San Siro.
It was never going to be a simple match for referee Daniele Doveri.
However, the 48-year-old didn’t put his foot wrong for almost the entire game, only to create a chavoc in the final stages.
Indeed, Doveri’s decision to interrupt the play denied the Nerazzurri a stoppage-time equalizer.
Then, he refused to point to the spot, even though Samuele Ricci clearly handled the ball inside his own box.
AC Milan & Inter Milan Fined for Derby della Madonnina Mayhem
Sports Judge Gerardo Mastandrea fined Milan for delaying the start of the second half for two minutes with a €22,000 penalty.
Furthermore, the Rossoneri received an €8,000 sanction for insulting two Inter players and using a disturbing laser beam during the closing stages of the match.
Meanwhile, Inter chief Dario Baccin reportedly criticized Doveri’s decision in a disrespectful manner in the locker room.
In doing so, he earned the Nerazzurri a €10,000 fine, even though he waited until the end of the game to express his frustrations.
