Olympique Marseille could reportedly decide to purchase Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard at the end of the season.

According to La Provence via FCInter1908, the Frenchman has managed to turn his fortunes around after a disappointing campaign.

Benjamin Pavard joined Marseille on a season-long loan toward the end of the summer transfer window.

Furthermore, Les Olympiens have included a €15 million buyback clause in their loan agreement with the Nerazzurri.

However, Pavard’s chances of staying at the Stade Velodrome beyond the summer seemed minimal until recently.

Marseille Could Purchase Inter Milan Outcast Benjamin Pavard

Despite making 20 Ligue 1 appearances this season, Pavard’s form has failed to impress the French club.

Still, the 29-year-old has shown signs of improvement lately.

Indeed, he has been particularly impressive in the absence of the injured Nayef Aguerd.

Now, he has established himself as a permanent fixture in Habib Beye’s starting lineup.

Therefore, it’s hard to exclude the possibility of Marseille activating the buyout clause at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, with Inter set to purchase Manuel Akanji, there’s no room for Pavard at San Siro.

As such, even if he fails to earn a permanent contract at Marseille, he’ll likely have to find a new club in the summer.
