Inter Milan star Yann Bisseck reiterated his loyalty to the club and discussed his strange relationship with former manager Simone Inzaghi.
During his recent interview with Kicker via L’Interista, the 25-year-old reflected on his role under the current Al-Hilal boss.
Signed from Danish club Aarhus in the summer of 2023, Yann Bisseck initially struggled for minutes but gradually worked his way into the first-team picture.
Last season, he made 27 appearances in Serie A, netting three goals and adding three assists.
Despite a slow start under new coach Cristian Chivu, the German defender has cemented his first-team status over the course of the campaign.
Indeed, he has leapfrogged Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij in the pecking order.
For context, he has made 13 starts in Inter’s last 15 league matches, helping his side register seven clean sheets in that sequence.
Therefore, Inter are reluctant to sell Bisseck in the summer despite growing interest from several Premier League sides.
Yann Bisseck Discusses His Relationship with Former Inter Milan Boss Simone Inzaghi
“It was right after the Under-21 European Championship in Georgia and Romania,” Bisseck said. “The club had offered me the chance to take more time off. But when you arrive in a new environment, you have to make the most of every day – especially when you move from Denmark to a world-class club like Inter.
“As a player who cost ‘only’ seven million euros, you first have to prove your worth so you’re not seen as just a training dummy among all these superstars.
“Simone Inzaghi and I couldn’t really communicate, apart from a few words in French. I had the feeling he didn’t quite know what to do with me.
“At first, it was also funny, but not easy. Because if you’re a defender and you can’t communicate with your teammates, it becomes difficult.”
Then, he admitted he had no choice but to learn Italian as quickly as possible.
“In general, I’ve always found new languages fascinating. If I hadn’t committed to it, I probably would have had to wait even longer to play than I already did.
“I would sit in bars and try to order everything in Italian. I simply tried to absorb life, the people, the way of interacting. It worked really well. Now I speak Italian almost fluently.”
Furthermore, Bisseck confirmed that he speaks several languages, including German, English, and French.
“It’s fundamental in the dressing room, in relationships, and in daily life with teammates. In that sense, it’s very useful.”
Inter Milan Defender Yann Bisseck Fully Committed to San Siro
Despite being linked with a mega-money move to the Premier League, Bisseck insists he is happy at San Siro.
“I’m living my dream at Inter,” he added. “This is the club that, among other things, made me the player I am today, and for that I’m grateful.
“I defend these colors, black and blue, on and off the pitch. Everything else is part of the business, but it’s not something that worries me. I’m happy here in Milan, and it’s exactly the right place for me.”
Given his importance to the club, it’s hard to expect Inter to let him leave in the summer.
However, the Nerazzurri may be willing to listen to offers in the region of €40 million.
Meanwhile, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined Crystal Palace in the race to sign the German ace.
this kid always talks big. he’d be nobody if it wasn’t for inzaghi. he made us pay big due to his mistakes. I don’t like the last two years under inzaghi, but those times were still no better than today’s runs. if chivu wasn’t our treble legend, I bet people would want him to be sacked. remember his early games when we had penalty shoutout. I personally think it’s worse than losing 5-0 against PSG in CL final where this guy was on the field
This guy makes so many interventions that he doesn’t get credit for because some people want him to fail and only see his mistakes.
Imagine if he did what Akanji did against Bodo or what Dumfries did Saturday….
Annnnnnnd, he has more guts to dribble vertically than any of our midfield or strikers.
Agree
Bissek is just low EQ player. When he caused those stupid penalties which cost our Scudetto, Inzaghi protected him. But now he is saying this to Inzaghi? LoL. Inzaghi is not perfect but he is good, especially in Inter. His leave is controversial and I also didn’t like the way he left, but that doesn’t mean he is not a great manager.
“Simone Inzaghi and I couldn’t really communicate, apart from a few words in French. I had the feeling he didn’t quite know what to do with me”
seriously, are we even reading the same passage? did bisseck said inzaghi was a bad manager?
the “couldn’t really communicate” part, and “didn’t quite know what to do with me” all arises from the fact that Bisseck and little command of Italian.
thats all there is.
or is there any part of the interview that was missed out in this article?
What I meant is no need to mention this to public. Maybe I mis-expressed, but no need talk bad about Inzaghi is my point. I just said Bissek is low EQ player, not a bad player neither.
Would you read it again ffs. He didn’t necessarily bad mouthed Inzaghi, he said when he didn’t speak italian, Inzaghi doesn’t know what to do with him. which is a fact. like you now misinterpreting him based on the headline, basically he said “i speak duck and inzaghi speak rabbit”
To be fair even Dumfries started caused a lot of penalties but his overall value is what judged Dumfries. The same can be said about Bisseck modern football is aggressive attacking and he fits the role. If inter decides to sell him they’ll have multiple offers unlike if they want to get rid of Susic or Henrique. Inzaghi deserves what he’s getting because it says a lot about what happened when one of the important match in Inter history he decided to shift his focus on an offer
Yes, but I never heard Dumfires complains about Inzaghi in public or to media. Again, I just said Bissek is low EQ player, not bad value player…..
I like the way he left, I preferred it that way. In fact he should have left a lot earlier, I was sooo tired of the football that was on display every match day. It was just like Conte’s, less defensive of course but the same concept.
Inter goal score amount under Inzaghi:
Season League (Serie A) Champions League Other Cups* Total Goals
2021/22 84 9 11 104
2022/23 71 19 11 101
2023/24 89 10 5 104
2024/25 75 26 9 110
Stop talk shit before even check on the numbers.
What is the significance of these stats? If you posted this to prove Inzaghi was an attack minded coach, You’re an idiot. Inter score all those goals and was still boring. I believe the season where the team was exciting the most was directly after Conte. If you’re using stats to base your argument vs lived experience then that means players such as Josef Bican, Erwin Helmchen etc who scored 800+ goals rank higher than the likes of Ronaldinho, Messi, R9 etc. Don’t bring this bullshit argument to me, I watched the games ffs
he not suited as cd in three centreback formation. lack defensive concetration and too offensive minded. He needs to raise his game level.
Simone gave us a lot of great memories. Not cool guys. And Bissek words are pull out of context. Now lets win this double. Forza Inter
Not for me. His football was so boring to watch and gave no chance to any other players to prove themselves. Also the way he left Inter make my head boil. Not cool
If you say Inzaghi’s football is boring, you must only watch his last two years with us. I suggest you to watch the whole Inzaghi’s time with Inter and you will see from the start, Inter is purely playing for beautiful football and attacking is amazing. Tactics is various even Thiery Henry agrees that it is hard to prepare for the game against Inter under Inzaghi. But now it is gone. It is not Chivu’s fault, it is what we have in past 2 years and Inzaghi and Chivu have to play with what they have. So stop saying Inzaghi’s football is boring. That just shows you are not with Inter for the whole time.
I suggest you watch the full matches instead of just highlights.
Yes, please go to watch the full game in 2021 and 2022.
That is exactly what I keep saying!! Was I watching a different team playing football?! These guys only watch the result and say yes Inter had a great match but in reality we sucked. There were flashes of brilliance but the general play was dry and void of entertainment, I couldn’t stand this man. I’ve been following his Al Alhi team and he regularly employs a 4-3-3. He did try using the 3 man defense in some games but they always concede and they sometimes draw games that they already had in the bag because of this man’s obsession with this formation. He hasn’t used it in a while tho lol. I think he hasn’t used learned his lesson.
It’s a shame we still can’t edit or delete comments on this site. My last sentence was a result of my phone having its way with autocorrect lol… I meant to say he “I think he has learned his lesson”
I love this guy hope he is a future captain.
Need at least 50 million to sell him.
He didn’t know how to utilize many and thats why he always played the same 11 players.
but he perfectly used his lover CORREA 🙂
