Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu will reportedly be in contention for the upcoming Serie A trip to Tuscany to face Fiorentina.

According to Sky Sport Italia via FCInterNews, the Turkish playmaker has resumed full training after spending the last two weeks in the treatment room.

Hakan Calhanoglu has endured an injury-hit start to the new calendar year.

Indeed, he first sustained a calf injury during Inter’s 2-2 home draw against reigning champions Napoli in early January.

Despite returning to action in mid-February, he suffered another injury against Como in the Coppa Italia earlier this month.

However, the 32-year-old will be at Cristian Chivu’s disposal this weekend.

Calhanoglu trained with the rest of the squad today, suggesting he will be fit to face La Viola on Sunday.

Moreover, his recovery comes at an opportune moment for Inter.

Indeed, veteran midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan picked up a hamstring injury against Atalanta last weekend and won’t play against Fiorentina.

Therefore, the former AC Milan star could make his first Serie A start in two months, with Piotr Zielinski expected to take the Armenian’s place.

Meanwhile, Alessandro Bastoni had a personalized training session, casting doubt on his ability to perform on Sunday.
