Serie A giants Inter Milan have reportedly taken concrete steps toward securing the signature of star goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

According to FCInter1908, Piero Ausilio visited London in midweek to establish direct contact with the player ahead of a potential summer transfer.

Guglielmo Vicario has emerged as Inter’s top candidate to replace the outgoing Yann Sommer.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri will sever ties with the former Bayern Munich veteran at the end of the season.

Despite the 37-year-old’s decent form this season, the runaway Serie A leader will let his contract expire.

Meanwhile, they’ve already identified the Swiss ace’s successor.

Inter Milan Accelerate Talks to Sign Guglielmo Vicario

Inter have earmarked Vicario as Sommer’s heir, but they face stiff competition from bitter rivals Juventus.

Like the Nerazzurri, the Turin giants are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper after Michele Di Gregorio’s disappointing campaign.

However, the San Siro heavyweights are in pole position to sign the former Empoli man.

Indeed, Ausilio visited London earlier this week to lay the foundation for a summer transfer.

Meanwhile, Vicario is desperate to leave North London and has reportedly agreed to join Inter in the summer.

It remains to be seen whether Inter will match Tottenham Hotspur’s €30 million asking price.
