Inter Milan have renewed their focus on Guglielmo Vicario as they plan for the summer goalkeeper market, with the Tottenham stopper emerging as the option that satisfies every criteria at the club according to Tuttosport, above the likes of Lunin and Caprile.
However, the reports claim, via FCInterNews, five alternative names remain firmly in play.
Vicario came close to joining Inter three years ago and contact between the parties has already been ongoing for some time.
Vicario Makes Inter His Preference As Nerazzurri Shortlist Lunin & Caprile
The Italy international is keen to return to Serie A and Inter represent his preferred destination.
Although Juventus and Roma, should Mile Svilar depart, are also in the running.
Tottenham are understood to be seeking a fee of between €15 and €20 million.
Indeed, a figure that is considered manageable given the Nerazzurri’s need to replace the departing Yann Sommer.
Should a deal for Vicario prove unworkable, Inter have a well-stocked shortlist of alternatives.
Andriy Lunin of Real Madrid, Bento of Al Nassr, Elia Caprile, Hornicek and Atubolu all remain genuine options under consideration.
For now, however, Vicario is the name at the top of the list.
After all, he is the goalkeeper who, in the words of Tuttosport, “today satisfies everyone” within the club’s decision-making structure.
Hey guys, I’d like to share a thought with you. Please let me know what you think.
Everyone says Vicario is bad. He can’t do this, he can’t do that.
When we wanted to sign him about three years ago, he was playing outstandingly. All of Italy thought he was the new best goalkeeper in the country.
Sometimes things just don’t click at your next club, and your performance suffers as a result.
Don’t you think he’ll get back in top form at Inter, with Spinelli? Come on… we have Spinelli!!! And if he pulls it off, just imagine—in two years, this will have been a steal for under 20 million.
Do you all really feel that Vicario can’t get better again?
You might be right about that. I´ve also been negative watching some of his mistakes in PL games.
But a goalie is off course dependent on the teams defense work, and that has/and is still a big problem for hotspurs. So lets hope he will transform too his better version coming to us, which seems more and more likely, especially considering the mentioned price.
Well said, my friend! Well said!
There are actually several other factors that can come into play. Look at players (including goalies) who were already written off, but after a change, something clicks and they’re back to their old selves. That’s life. It’s the same for us in our professional lives, too.
I’m looking ahead with optimism and believe in our club!
Just imagine: he comes to us, plays great again. Everyone would be crying again that we have him, and he might even have a higher rating—and that with two more years under his belt!! That would be the best-case scenario.
Just like Sommer, he will have a great first season and start to drop off again to becoming a pain in the a55.
players that have the ability to drop off way too low in performance are always a vulnerability. Just look at Di Gregorio, Alex Meret, Juan Musso just to name a few. I would rather we go all in for Lunin.
Just Aim lunin or trubin bro. This keeper situation need to be stopped. Inter dont have to serach keeper every 3 years. Its a bad sign.
