Besiktas are considering triggering their option to buy Kristjan Asllani from Inter Milan at the end of the season, but the Turkish club want to negotiate a discount on the €11 million fee outlined in the loan agreement according to reports from Istanbul.

Asllani joined Besiktas on loan in January following a spell at Torino.

And, indeed, he has impressed since arriving in Istanbul.

FCInterNews report he has satisfied the club’s expectations and giving the hierarchy genuine reason to consider a permanent deal.

A decision is expected at the end of the season, but Besiktas are unwilling to simply exercise the option on its current terms.

They want Inter to reduce the fee and are pushing for a more favourable arrangement before committing.

The player’s own attitude will be a decisive factor.

If Asllani confirms his happiness in Istanbul and pushes Inter to facilitate a permanent move, the Nerazzurri’s negotiating position weakens and the asking price comes down.

Inter, for their part, will be watching his end-of-season form closely as they assess whether the Albanian international fits into their plans going forward.

Or, instead, whether a clean sale to Besiktas at an acceptable figure represents the most straightforward outcome for all parties.
