Premier League giants Aston Villa and Newcastle United are reportedly genuinely interested in Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram.

According to CaughtOffside via FCInterNews, both clubs have already established contact with the player’s entourage.

Marcus Thuram could leave San Siro at the end of the season after an unimpressive year.

Indeed, the 28-year-old has netted just seven goals in 23 Serie A appearances this term.

Furthermore, he’s currently on a five-game scoring drought and faces the risk of losing his starting berth.

With Lautaro Martinez set to recover from a calf injury, he’s likely to regain his place in the starting XI against Roma.

Meanwhile, in-form Francesco Pio Esposito is better-positioned than Thuram to partner up with El Toro.

Inter Milan Star Marcus Thuram Draws Inquiries from Aston Villa & Newcastle United

Thuram has an €85 million release clause in his contract, but Inter cannot realistically expect anyone to match that figure.

However, the former Borussia Monchengladbach striker has drawn interest from Saudi Arabia.

Still, Aston Villa and Newcastle are keen to lure him to the Premier League, with Inter reportedly expecting to earn around €70 million from Thuram’s sale.

Though Thuram’s exit is not a foregone conclusion, it has become a distinct possibility.
