Barcelona could reportedly offer Gerard Martin as part of a player-plus-cash offer to sign Inter Milan stalwart Alessandro Bastoni.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Blaugrana are ready to offer their homegrown star as a counterpart to drive Bastoni’s price down.

It’s no secret that the Catalan powerhouse want to sign Alessandro Bastoni at all costs.

Indeed, the Spanish heavyweights have identified the 26-year-old as an ideal defensive reinforcement ahead of the summer.

However, Inter’s substantial €70 million asking price remains a stumbling block, with Barca unable to match that figure.

Inter would reluctantly sell Bastoni in the summer, but any interested club must meet their valuation of the Italian defender first.

Furthermore, the player looks willing to stay at San Siro despite being booed by Serie A fans after his Derby d’Italia antics.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are not ready to go down without a fight.

Instead, they’ve developed a new plan to reduce the costs of the operation and are looking to ‘sacrifice’ Gerard Martin.

Still, the Nerazzurri are unlikely to accept any player-plus-cash proposal, as they are only interested in a straight cash.
