Serie A pacesetters Inter Milan have reportedly joined the race to sign sought-after Modena defender Daniel Tonoli.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri could complete another piece of business with the Serie B outfit in the summer.

Inter signed French midfielder Yanis Massolin from Modena in the final hours of the January transfer window.

However, they’ve allowed the 23-year-old to stay at Stadio Alberto Braglia on loan until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Cristian Chivu’s men seem to have set their sights on another hot Serie B prospect.

Tonoli has emerged as one of the most promising defenders in Italy’s second tier this season.

Indeed, the Italian starlet has enjoyed a stellar campaign, making 29 league appearances for the Canaries.

Furthermore, Tonoli’s goal-scoring capacity has been particularly impressive, with the 23-year-old netting five goals already.

Therefore, several Serie A clubs, including Atalanta and Genoa, have added him to their lists of targets.

As for Inter, they will have to strengthen their backline in the summer, with several experienced stars set to leave the club.

In addition to Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi, Alessandro Bastoni could also be on his way out amid Barcelona’s persistent interest.
