Inter Milan have reportedly identified Sassuolo center-back Tarik Muharemovic as their top defensive target ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri are preparing for a defensive ‘revolution.’
Indeed, it shapes up to be a transitional summer for the San Siro giants.
Several long-serving stalwarts, including Stefan de Vrij and Matteo Darmian, will cut ties with the runaway Serie A leaders.
Furthermore, Francesco Acerbi has failed to earn a new contract and will be part of the outgoing contingent.
Whether Alessandro Bastoni will ply his trade in Serie A next season remains uncertain, with Barcelona looking to bring him to Camp Nou.
Inter Milan Earmark Tarik Muharemovic as Top Defensive Target
Bastoni’s potential exit would force Inter to pursue a deal for Tarik Muharemovic at all costs.
However, even if the Italian star stays put, the Nerazzurri will try to sign the Sassuolo starlet despite Juventus’ upper hand.
Indeed, the Turin giants retained the right of first refusal when they sold the 23-year-old to the Neroverdi in 2024.
Still, Inter’s interest in the Bosnian youngster appears to be more genuine.
Much will depend on Bastoni’s future, though the 26-year-old seems keen to commit to a new long-term deal at San Siro.

Some of the best realistic options for us to overhaul squad. Probably not all players will leave that i wrote, but a majority will. Also we need to give more minutes to U23 team and Primavera kids, and to send some of them on loan or buy-back option who are ready for the next step, like Dimarco and Stankovic were.
