Inter Milan have made contact with the agent of Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori as they plan for the possibility of Alessandro Bastoni leaving for Barcelona this summer, though the move would be far from straightforward.
The contact with Alessandro Lucci, Calafiori’s representative, also covered the situation of Luca Di Maggio, currently on loan at Padova, who could attract Serie A and Serie B interest in the summer. But the Calafiori conversation was significant in its own right.
According to FCInterNews, Inter view the former Bologna left-footer as the ideal replacement should Bastoni depart.
He is Italy-capped, technically excellent and already proven at the highest level.
Arsenal Reluctance And High Cost Make Calafiori A Difficult Target For Inter As Bastoni Departure A Possibility
The obstacles are significant, however.
Arsenal have no intention of selling Calafiori at this stage, and even if their position changed, the combined cost of a transfer fee and salary would represent a major financial commitment for Inter.
The move remains a dream rather than an imminent reality.
Regardless of Bastoni’s future, Inter are already working on other defensive additions.
Solet of Udinese leads the shortlist for one position, versatile, athletic and capable of covering all three roles in a back three.
Muharemovic of Sassuolo is also a candidate, though his limited experience in a back three makes him a riskier proposition.
Inter plan to bring in just one of the two, with Solet currently ahead.
What is certain is that next season’s Inter defence will feature several new faces.

we will never get him too expensive
We lost Tonali and signed Vidal missed this guy and worst of all we should ve got kayode from fiorantina last year
He’s so good but Inter are not getting him simply because Inter are too poor and feed off scarps. Inter will try to get some other no names from France lower teams like the way they got Henrique and Diouf and overpays of course.
I watched Inter when we were rich. We got roni, bobo, baggio, pirlo, veron, crespo, canavaro…zero tituli…
Beppe is the man. Trust the process
He’s not better than sandro and sandro wount leave. Fokin media cashin in on rube media game
Forza Inter
Forza Sandro
which sandro have you been mentioning his name since?
Alessandro Bastoni
Stop creatin BS SW.
Sandro deserves more credit bout what he has done on the last few years.
note : Sandro goin to stay.
Huh?
Bro. Its sandro. If you dont know…sad stuff. But for the sake of being nice – bastoni my man. Bastoni. Sandro Bastoni. The rock. Unless you’re jubentino…you gotta love sandro. Our pride. With niko and dima…thats the core. The media can shake as much as they want. But our boys are staying.. and ripping ribe and mulan next year.
Forza Inter…and…Forza Inter
Now lets win the seria and the cup
Basto, Dima, Nico, Lauti – the spine of the team. It would be shocking if any of them left. Every other position can be replaced without the team losing its identity.
