Roma winger Matias Soule is reportedly on the verge of recovery and could feature in Sunday’s clash against Inter Milan.

According to Corriere della Sera via FCInterNews, the Argentine forward has ramped up his training intensity and is edging closer to full match fitness.

Gian Piero Gasperini has been without his talismanic star since mid-February.

Indeed, Soule’s last Serie A appearance came in a 2-2 draw against Napoli in the famous Derby del Sole.

However, after missing five consecutive league games, the 22-year-old could make his long-awaited return against Inter.

With Roma trailing fourth-placed Como by three points, they’ll arrive at San Siro under pressure to secure a positive result.

Several high-profile injury setbacks have derailed Gasperini’s bid to steer the Giallorossi to their first top-four finish since the 2017/18 season.

In addition to Soule, Roma have been without Paulo Dybala, Artem Dovbyk, and Evan Ferguson for most of the second half of the campaign.

And since all three are expected to sit out Sunday’s clash in Lombardy, Soule’s recovery comes as a major boost for Gasperini’s side.

Meanwhile, Inter are likely to welcome talismanic striker Lautaro Martinez back from a month-long spell in the pits.
