Roma could tie Lorenzo Pellegrini down to a new contract, while Inter Milan continue to monitor the Italian midfielder.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the 29-year-old has eight matches to convince the Giallorossi to offer him a new deal.

Pellegrini’s current contract expires in June.

Despite his long-term service at the Stadio Olimpico, the star midfielder has lost his first-team status this season.

Indeed, he has made only 18 Serie A appearances this term, falling behind Manu Kone in the pecking order.

Therefore, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have been reluctant to offer him a contract extension.

Meanwhile, Inter have set their sights on the former Sassuolo man, with Beppe Marotta viewing him as a decent cost-effective signing.

Roma Could Offer Inter Milan Target Lorenzo Pellegrini Late Contract Renewal

With eight games left to play, Roma trail fourth-placed Como by three points.

Therefore, they must play catch-up to Cesc Fabregas’ side if they’re to secure a first top-four Serie A finish since 2017/18.

On the other hand, it will also be an opportunity for Lorenzo Pellegrini to recover his household status in the capital.

As for Inter, they continue to monitor Pellegrini’s situation, as they aim to reinforce their midfield options.
