Alessandro Bastoni received a powerful show of solidarity from Inter Milan supporters on Saturday, with the Curva Nord unveiling a banner at Appiano Gentile to remind the defender he is not alone during the most difficult period of his Inter career.
As per FCInter1908, the banner read: “Head high and fear nothing, your people are by your side.”
It is the second time this season the Curva have made a public gesture of support for Bastoni.
During the Inter vs Atalanta match, a previous banner declared him “our pride.”
Inter Milan Curva Nord Back Bastoni After Difficult 2026
The timing is significant.
Bastoni has endured weeks of intense scrutiny, first from the Kalulu incident in the Derby d’Italia, which has followed him to every away ground since in the form of hostile receptions from opposition supporters, and more recently from the red card he received playing for Italy against Bosnia in the World Cup play-off final.
Through it all, the Inter faithful have refused to turn on their defender.
For a player whose heart has always been at this club, and who is now at the centre of Barcelona’s summer pursuit, that unconditional backing from the stands may prove the most powerful argument for staying.
Chivu spoke about Bastoni with evident emotion at his pre-match press conference on Saturday.
The Curva’s message at training reinforces what the coach has been saying privately for weeks.
At Inter, Bastoni is loved, and that love does not come with conditions.

it would be wonderful if he scores and assists yoday
I love the attitude buddy
he won’t stay, his departure is inevitable, now the only ting that has been unidentified is the transfer fee, I just hope it will be such that we will be able to buy two quality players
I’m tired of reading same kind of news every day on Bastoni. Both sides have their merits. On one side sale does have sense, especially if the offer is in the ballpark of 100 mil, his performances have been in sharp decline in the last year or so. Too many mistakes, grabbing players with both hands in or close our penalty box, limited that he can only play on the left side of back 3, so in a formation of 4 back may be a liability. Media hype didn’t help also.
On the other side if he manages to pass this big hurdle we’ll have a world class left-footed cb back. Came as a teenager and grew into one of the best centrebacks here, became one of the vice-captains and often was one of the best players on the pitch.
So the question is can he mentally pass this obstacle and regain his best form?
to be honest his reputation is already world class. he’s definition of modern centre back where defenders don’t need to solely rely on physical attributes, but also can provide more for the team. I don’t see anyone who’s better than him even young van dijk couldn’t get to his level as modern centre back and more traditional smart defender. let’s give him a break, he’s been up there with small breaks. you’ve seen it yourself; dima, basto and bare are hearts of the team for years in tight fixtures
How nice, but I’m afraid it’s not enough.
I think its important because what Italy did was shooting themselves in the foot after the media attack. Inter have crucial matches coming along and only stupid fans will attack Bastoni even tho he made a mistake in the penalty because every opposition now will want Inter to slip
putting him as CCB was a bad idea from the start. he’s more ball carrier than natural defender and yeah, people shouldn’t only blame him for the goal. the whole national team isn’t enough.
Awesome, I hope he stays.
Thats the attitude bruh
