Inter Milan manager Cristian Chivu is reportedly preparing to overhaul the Nerazzurri squad at the end of the season.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Inter’s summer revolution is expected to begin with the 45-year-old’s contract renewal.
Cristian Chivu was keen to change Simone Inzaghi’s trademark 3-5-2 formation upon arrival last summer.
However, Inter’s failed attempt to sign Ademola Lookman from Atalanta put his plan on hold.
Despite being on the verge of winning the Scudetto this term, Chivu has not changed his mind.
Indeed, he remains determined to alter Inter’s tactical setup. Furthermore, the Nerazzurri could line up in a 4-2-3-1 next season.

Roma midfielder Manu Kone remains one of Inter’s top targets for the summer. Meanwhile, the Italians have not lost interest in Al-Ittihad winger Moussa Diaby.
Indeed, the French duo sit high on Inter’s shortlist.
Moreover, Inter are ready to wave goodbye to several veteran stars, including starting goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
Tottenham Hotspur stopper Guglielmo Vicario has already emerged as an ideal replacement for the Swiss star.
Additionally, Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian, and Stefan de Vrij will also leave the club in June.
Then, Denzel Dumfries’ future remains uncertain, while the Nerazzurri could also entertain offers for Luis Henrique.
Therefore, it’s reasonable to expect Inter to sign a new wingback in the summer. Marco Palestra would be a dream signing.

The only potential problem with that formation is that when we struggle and Chivu inevitably is let go the squad characteristics may be unable to adapt to a manager that wants 3 in the back. It’s a big step and if he fails with it, it hinders us moving forward
That’s a very pessimistic outlook. “Inevitability” is a strong word, considering the good work that Chivu has done with an aging squad and one that does not fit his profile as manager. Chivu is a very attacking coach and has a specific idea of football that this team is incapable of putting on display. With time and the tools needed to facilitate his idea of football we will be the best version of Inter since 2010, if not better.
Im not convinced by Chivu…… with the quality in the squad plus a subpar league its impossible not to win the Serie a. I still believe Marotta made a stupid decision hiring Chivu taking a step back from the Champions league is a mistake. Marotta have no ambition or courage just buy cheap unproven players and wish for the best. After Italy got knocked out of the World cup I wouldnt buy any more Italian players. The players we have are failure enough.
You make no sense. Winning the league is never easy. Last 4 years should tell you that. We’ve been the best 4 years in a row and only one 1 title and your in these comments talking like us winning the league is a given each year. Napoli won the league with 82 points last season, that’s subpar and we still didn’t win the league. Winning the league is never easy this isnt France or Germany.
Impossible not to win Serie A? Really? Have we become this spoiled and unrealistic as fans?
Marotta is a master of building not only a squad but a winning culture.
I’ve never seen a group of fans so ungrateful while their team is in the midst of a winning cycle. We are leading the league by seven points and have made the UCL final twice in 3 years.
This is not Real Madrid. Any time we win the UCL it is nearly a once in a lifetime event.
After winning the Scudetto and Coppa this season,Inter will have to build on this success by opening the pocket book and spending on young but proven players who can contribute Right Away,.Inter needs to win Now,and improve on the failure in Champions League.4231 or 433 wingers and mid is very important and costly.Muharemovic,Solet,Gila or Kim will be good in a back 4.
Well… if this is true, it’s about damn time.
I think this is a very good start on making changes. The change may cause a difficult moment for Inter but I am going to be patient with this as this is a necessary step to being on the top level. back 3 was good when Inzaghi was making his trades but were various limitation such as not being able to use wingers or making buildup plays. However we saw that having a pacy winger that can destory defender is a key to becoming the best from last champions league finals and this would be a perfect way to start. First season was for Chivu to get to know the squad and find his footing. Next season will be a real challenge where is making inupts to show his Inter.
