Roma have made Carlos Augusto their primary summer target, and Gian Piero Gasperini has personally identified the Inter Milan Brazil defender as the ideal profile to transform his left flank, according to reports.
According to FcInterNews, the Roma interest in Carlos Augusto is serious and growing.
Gasperini wants the former Monza man to play the role Robin Gosens filled so effectively during his time at Atalanta.
Indeed, a powerful, all-action left wing-back equally capable of dropping into a back three when required.
Inter offered Carlos Augusto a renewal approximately two months ago.
In a deal worth €3.2 million net per season until 2030. However, he has not signed it.
Inter Defender Carlos Augusto Wants Guaranteed Starting Role; Kone Swap Emerges With Roma As Gasperini Eyes Brazilian
The hesitation is not financial. The terms are agreed, the stumbling block is the player’s desire for guaranteed starting status.
Indeed, Carlos Augusto is unhappy being considered an excellent deputy to either Alessandro Bastoni or Federico Dimarco. He wants to be a starter in his own right.
That is precisely what Roma are offering him.
Furthermore, the strong Roma interest creates a natural opportunity for Inter to leverage it in pursuit of Manu Koné, a player they have wanted for over a year.
A swap deal in which both clubs assess the values of Carlos Augusto and Koné, with Inter making up the financial difference, is described as far from unthinkable.
Gianluca Mancini is not currently a confirmed Inter target, though that could change if his renewal at Roma stalls.
On Mile Svilar, Inter have no realistic path, the goalkeeper is valued at €60 million, a figure only Premier League clubs could reach. Therefore, Koné remains the sole genuine Roma player Inter want.
I love his dedication and fighting spirit he showed since he came, he’s been excellent deputy for both Dima and Basto. Wouldn’t want him to leave but if he wants more starting games, then the board should set a price at 35 mil, came for under 15, not a bad fee profit, gained a lot in playing department from him. Let’s be honest, he’s good to play as a starter for any other club in Italy.
The seasons are long. Everyone needs to start and everyone needs to rest. We wount sell him. Cant make a major income so no need
the simple fact that Carlos has been playing multiple positions lwb, lcb, even rwb means that he is an exceptional professional and an integral part of the squad.Inter should value him higher in terms of transfer fee,if there isn’t a starting spot for him. Also If Bastoni leaves he should be the first choice replacement.
He has integrated well into our team, there is no reason to sell him.
him not renewing his contract and wanting to start is actually a major reason to sell. Unless u want him to go on cheap or for free.
lets swap with malen
Augusto is a good squad player, not for sale! we could use fratessi to reduce Kone’s price tag
As much as I like Carlos Augusto and because I like him i honestly think it’s time for him to go somewhere he can start. Hes been a backup since he’s came to inter and as a parting gift for his time here he could help secure Kone. On top of that we wouldn’t even have to spend much on a left back… we have cocchi and that udinese kid that we should put faith in.
