Does Inter have a problem with scoring goals? At a first glance no, but if you put aside what Icardi and Perisic have done, there could be a problem. TuttoSport explains: “The lack of alternatives to Icardi and Perisic is a problem that got obvious the last season and this season has started in the same way. Something that Walter Sabatini pointed out to Suning in the beginning of the mercato. Inter needs to buy a goal scorer, someone who can get some weight off of Icardi’s shoulders. At the end, the only transfer in that area of the team was Karamoh which means that Spalletti has to rely on the five midfielders currently in rotation.

Candreva has been awful, we need a right winger similar to Schick, Berardi, Keita, Suso… Someone that can create something on the wing by himself, score if needed while also supplying Icardi as well. Candreva literally does nothing else than receive the ball and try to cross to Icardi. Occasionally he tries to shoot but with futile attempts. Too limited and even the one thing he’s limited to, he has been awful at it. If you look at the Bologna – Inter heat map, most of our plays went through Candreva, no shit we struggled to score. I really hope Cancelo/Karamoh could provide a solution for the right wing. Or even Joao Mario/Brozović on the right side, they have played in that position before.
He would make a better RB than a RW, since basically can’t shoot and all he does is cross… When we don’t score people instantly start blaming Icardi and I’ve tried to point out that he shouldn’t be the only one we rely on to score. It’s highly unlikely that he’ll score every game and we need other players besides him to actually score.
Perisic/Icardi/Eder are currently the only ones I believe can score every game, don’t see our MF scoring regularly. So when they get shut down we’re screwed. The last MF we had that I believe could score on his own imo was Guarin, he would honestly be the ideal AM right now with Spalletti as coach.
This is what I’ve been saying all along.
