“We did what we wanted to do in the first half and for that I am very satisfied, we managed to play with a lot of intensity. My debut? Does not matter, what really counts is the debut of all these youngsters, hopefully they will be a resource for the future.”
These are the words of Lionel Scaloni, interim coach of the Argentinian national team after the 3-0 win against Guatemala in the first friendly game during the international break: “We are proud of these guys who performed vey well in their first experience with the Selection” – the former Deportivo la Coruna full-back added. “Changes against Colombia? We will absolutely make some changes for the second friendly during this break, the idea is to continue trying new solutions.”
One of these changes should involve Inter attacker Mauro Icardi who, as a precaution, was on the bench against Guatemala, but is already announced to start next game against Colombia.
