Inter’s Argentinian attacker Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring last night at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district in the Serie A clash against Cagliari, a goal that proved to be the winning one although Politano made it a done deal by also scoring his first goal in an Inter shirt.

However, Martinez did not just score, he erased the ghost of Gabigol, and he did it after being left out of the team some time after an injury to his left calf. As soon as he came back as a starting player, he scored, it only took 12 minutes and it was a crucial goal that got Inter the 4th consecutive victory.

Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport remembers the words of Inter coach Luciano Spalletti: “cautious in order not to lose him.”

Well, he is anything but trivial and both his goal and every time he touched the ball, the crowd was amazed in a mix of wonder and exaltation.
