In yesterday’s win against Cagliari in the Serie A, Luciano Spalletti got some reassuring responses from the players that have not played as much this season, based on their performances on the pitch.
At least according to Turin based newspaper Tuttosport who report in today’s paper edition of the newspaper that “the 2-0 victory against Cagliari was not one of Inter’s most breathtaking victories, but it was a solid win that did not make the team suffer too much. Cagliari did not post that much of a threat except the goal, that was reversed after VAR had its say thanks to a handball from Cagliari captain Dessena.
“Referee Massa, did not see the episode but after reviewing the replays it was clear that Dessena used his left arm to score, although Dessena apparently was unaware of this. The three points leave Inter with 13 points after 7 rounds of the Serie A, two points from Napoli. The tough start with losses against Sassuolo and Parma, together with the draw against Torino seems to be behind the team now” the newspaper continues.
In conclusion Tuttosport highlights the players that started the match yesterday and who were decisive stating that: “Inter is far from the team that experts thought would start the Serie A, but last night saw some answers from players that, up until now, have had few moments to prove their ability. Like Lautaro Martinez for example, who after a month of injury returned with his first goal in the Serie A, and what about Borja Valero who showed that he still can make a contribution to the team, both as midfielder and as a vice-Brozovic. And then we have Dalbert who had his best performance ever since coming to Italy.”
