Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti has received the “Ambasciatore della Grande Milano nel Mondo 2018” for the ambassadorial work he carries out for the city of Milan.

“It is a great feeling to receive such a prestigious award, and I have received many in my career, but getting it here in Milan, a city that I consider my home, has a special flavor to it,” he said upon receiving his award on the Washington Stage at the Marriot Hotel in Milan.

“I was born in Argentina, but I feel like an Italian and that is thanks to the city of Milan. I am the father of three kids, all of them born in Milan, three Italian kids and three Inter fans and I am very proud to be from Milan. I love both Milan and Inter and I take them with me wherever I go in the world. The city of Milan adopted me, welcomed me and made me an Inter fan.”
