Inter Milan are waiting to see more of Marcus Thuram before they decide on their next striker signing.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri will consider how Thuram fits into the team and the Frenchman’s role next season before they make up their mind on who else they want to bring in in attack.

Inter are still trying to sort out their attack for next season.

The collapse of the Nerazzurri’s move for Romelu Lukaku, and the possibility that Joaquin Correa could also leave, have left the club looking for a major striker signing.

Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun is certainly a top name on the Nerazzurri’s radar. Meanwhile, Udinese’s Beto is another target.

But on the other hand, the Nerazzurri have also already made one signing in attack.

Former Borussia Monchengladbach star Marcus Thuram has arrived on a free transfer. He replaces Edin Dzeko in the Nerazzurri’s squad.

And the 25-year-old has certainly not been signed with the intention of being a fringe player in the squad or a mere depth option. Inter have made a big investment in Thuram’s wages and intend for him to play a big role in attack.

Inter Want To See More Of Thuram Before Deciding On New Striker Signing

Inter already have a clear idea of the kind of player they’ve gotten in Thuram.

But at the same time, the Nerazzurri have only actually seen a week or so of the Frenchman in training. And he has yet to play in the team’s upcoming friendlies against Al-Nassr and Paris Saint-Germain.

Those friendlies should give the club a better idea of exactly how Thuram will fit in to the team.

The directors and coaching staff will get their first good look at how the Frenchman dovetails with Lautaro Martinez in a match setting.

Then, there will be a clearer idea of what the team are looking for in attack. From there, the club directors will proceed to move for whichever target they deem to be most suitable.
