Inter Milan are preparing an offer worth €40 million to sign Arsenal and USMNT striker Folarin Balogun.

This according to SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, who reports via FCInterNews that the Nerazzurri’s budget for an attacker is around what they were willing to pay to sign Romelu Lukaku, and that they’ll further test the waters to sign Balogun soon.

Balogun looks to clearly be Inter’s top target in attack at this point.

The 22-year-old has fully convinced the Nerazzurri’s directors with his performances on loan for Reims in Ligue 1 last season.

Now, it looks as though everything will come down to whether Arsenal are willing to accept a bid that’s within their price range.

Inter Milan Want To Spend The Money Earmarked For Lukaku On Move For Balogun

Pedulla confirms that Inter’s budget to sign a striker this summer is right around €40 million.

This had been the amount of money that the Nerazzurri had been prepared to spend to sign Romelu Lukaku.

Before Inter abruptly pulled the plug on talks for the Belgian, they had been close to an agreement with Chelsea on a fee. After unsuccessfully trying to get another loan deal, the Nerazzurri had a straight cash offer on the table.

Inter had been willing to offer Chelsea a €40 million fee for Lukaku. That was with the inclusion of all add-ons.

Now, Pedulla reports, Inter will make Arsenal more or less the same offer to sign Balogun.

If the Gunners are open to this bid, then Inter should be able to get their man.

But if, on the other hand, Arsenal are resolute in holding out for more money, then there’s little chance of Inter being able to sign Balogun.

Should the Nerazzurri miss out on Balogun, Pedulla names Beto, Gianluca Scamacca, and Alvaro Morata as other tarets.
