Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of the new TIM Cup finalist Napoli, was interviewed on Radio 24 and talked about the current Inter coach Walter Mazzarri, formerly of Napoli:
“Mazzarri had other methods than Benitez. We started a new project. Rafa doesn’t use 3-5-2, a formation no one in Europe uses. The big teams all play with 4-2-3-1, we knew it initially there would be problems, but the change was made. With Mazzarri there was always a fear of using someone new, like Vargas, for example.”

that crazy old man is still feeling the pain from Mazzari’s refusal to renew
And we see the results now…
What formation does Juve use?
Juve isn’t a big team.
Juve are well on their way to becoming a big team. I’ll bet you ANYTHING that Napoli won’t finish above Juventus next season, and Conte won’t change 3-5-2 in Italy.
3-5-2 is a very suiting formation for the Italian league, it just isn’t optimal for European football, because teams play another type of football in European competitions. Seriously, don’t fall for this shit, Napoli had the best times since Maradona with Mazzarri. They’re not even close to being that good this season, and their squad is much more complete!
Good point but Conte did go back to a 4 man defense against the big teams. It’s like the 3 man defense works in the ultra tactical serie A but in big games in Europe you need some variation and less predictability and Mazarri has shown he is not very flexible. Time will tell.
Difference is in Serie A Juve have the best team, well played together, strong in every position, but they suck dick in Europe. Simple, the Italian league isn’t what it used to be and they have it easy against other Italian clubs, but as soon as they play against tougher opponents they suck. That is not how a big team is, therefore Juve is not a big team.
He didnt say this about 3-5-2 formation part before when we won 14 games straight. But i agree about the rest.
