Inter Milan are reportedly ready to shift their focus from Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman to Roma midfielder Manu Kone.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908. They report that the Nerazzuri are seeking approval from owners Oaktree Capital.
Manu Kone has emerged as a surprise transfer opportunity for Inter Milan.
The Nerazzurri reportedly see the France international as an ideal profile for the holding midfield position.
Inter have no shortage of midfielders who can play in a more advanced role.
However, midfielders like Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu are not as well-suited to playing in a double pivot.
Inter To Shift From Lookman To Kone – Seeking Oaktree Capital

Sky Sport Italia confirm that Inter are ready to shift their focus to trying to sign Kone.
The Nerazzurri sense an opportunity to sign the 24-year-old. This as Roma have decided that they are willing to listen to offers.
Inter are ready to re-allocate the funds that they’ve been preparing to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.
The Nerazzurri have had a €45 million offer rejected for the Nigerian, including add-ons.
Now, Sky Sport Italia report, Inter will have to convince owners Oaktree Capital that a move for Kone is the right next step.
Inter’s plan in getting new defenders is very simple and clear. Just don’t get any and ignore it was ever a problem. We’re starting to see very early the consequences of getting a yes man as a coach he can’t be ok with this unless he doesn’t want to even challenge and blame experience. Acebri, Darmian, DeVrij are not and will never be at their level best meaning they’re liabilities they just can’t be the main defenders
I’ve been saying this for a few weeks. This is the worst transfer summer market in many years. Not sure if it’s because of our new president or culture shift in the organization. Such an injection of funds in this club and barely anything to show for it. Everyone knows our needs except for the people in charge. This latest rumor if true is a panic move. Winter now Leoni and an aging defense. I think it’s safe to say that Inter is going to make rash last minute moves from here on out. It’s our team that we know what it needs but at the end of the day it’s not our personal money being wasted.
trade Fratessi with him and still get Lookman
I have been a massive fan of marotta and co until this window they have completely lost the plot!!
“Oaktree ready to invest”
In what?!? Floundering buffoons in charge!!
This makes no sense. Roma paid less than 20M for him just a year ago and now he’s worth more than double??
Wtf are we doing? We paying 40M plus for a central mid, not a playmaker or a finisher
Even Transfermarkt values him at 40 mln, so Roma asking for 40-50 mln is within reason. Whether Oaktree wants to spend that on a player or not is another matter.
No one is paying that Inter are broke they just want to stall on everything then claim it’s not their fault
No you cannot get approval. Inters management has completely messed up. Why they didn’t sell Bisseck and buy Lookman and De Winter? Such clowns. Now they looking to shift strategy and buy a player Inter doesn’t need. such stupidness. Just for 5 million more they throw away the whole season.
Inter should have bought Jashari in the early days of the mercato. Maybe Cristhian Mosquera too. Together they would cost roughly as much as Kone alone, if he is on the market.
I think Jashari is overhyped, don’t believe he’ll be great at Milan. There wasn’t any world class Albanian player as far as i know. Who can guarantee he’ll be success, we all saw how Asllani paid off.
Ethnicity does not decide whether a player will do well or not; I am surprised seeing such kind of arguments.
I saw Jashari in the UCL last season. He was hard-working and fighting for the ball. Something for which Asllani was not known even at Empoli. IMO Jashari will befome a quality midfielder, as he has both the talent and hard work.
Just to be clear – he never mentioned ethnicity
He said there was no world class players from Albania – you brought race into it, that says more about you than him
You must be drunk.
You must be one of those who gets offended by every second word. I don’t give a fuck from which country player is, just that he’s a very good material for us. Because of Asllani, who is one of the best players of Albanian national team, i’m sceptic for the rest of them, and i think i’m not the only one here who thinks so.
@Milito, I was not “offended” and I have no reason why. I was just surprised by your ignorance: if Asllani failed, then Jashari will fail. Jashari even isn’t from Albania. Your argument is so dumb.
My ignorance? Everyone here can agree that there are football nations from which come gifted world class players, and realistically Albania isn’t one of them. If his parents are Albanians, then he’s also Albanian, with a birthplace in Switzerland. Example: If an English couple went on vacation in Greece, and woman gave birth there, is that child immediately Greek cause he’s born there? As for Jashari, he’s ok player, better than Asllani, but not worth 35mil, cause there’ll 3 or 4 players before him in picking order.
he isnt albanian hes from kosovo
Yeah and they all welsh over there in kosovo, right?
