Inter’s coach Walter Mazzarri spoke to Sky after the game today, here’s what he had to say: “I am happy with the way we dealt with this season, but we must wait before giving a definitive judgment until the last game. Kovacic? He is growing and needs to improve in many areas, but you can see him maturing game by game. He’s becoming more decisive and we knew it would be a growth process with him.”
“This is a tricky year for me, I had to really struggle and I’m a little tired. There is this final push and I used up a lot of energy, as we had so much to do. Let’s wait for the final game, then I will explain exactly how I feel. Clearly we should’ve informed people better of what kind of year this is. We tried, but nobody listened to us. Some of the difficulties were not helped by the media.”
The Coach implied he was not entirely happy with the squad this season. “We have a clear project in mind. One of the difficulties this season was we did all we could in the circumstances, dealing with the squad at my disposal. I will tell the club my ideas and then we can plan for next season. I hear people say we play only on the counter-attack, but that’s not true. They should see teams who really do play that way. We need players who can win the ball back quickly and pressure the opposition. If you don’t have those characteristics, then you have to go deeper and pour forward at pace. It isn’t really my style of football, but there’s a big difference between saying something and doing it.”

Mazzarri is a hard worker and a winner. The fact that some of you don’t like his personality or tactics is irrelevant. The players all support this coach, the management supports this coach, and after a successful season of getting this team back into Europe despite all the obstacles, I support this coach. I hope that all you outspoken Mazzarri haters eat your words next season when Inter are at the top of the table. Give Mazzarri the great players he wants to run his formations and i can guarantee you that we will see the results.

the supporters pushed mazzari to play kovecic and thats why he is playing, he didnt see his talent, u can see in mazzaris eyes he is not satisfied,he is not good with youngsters he like kuzmanovich more then anyone but he feels the pressure from the fans,tider & botta will never get the chance til we tell him with a banner, i dont want him next season.
What the fuck is Icardi if not a youngster?! Mazzari has given playing time to Kovacic and Icardi consistently at the end of the season. The start of the season he maybe trusted Taider more and Icardi was injured.

Only 1/5 of the season does Mazzari start using the younger players, and that’s because he’s running out of cards of his hands, so using the youngsters are the only option he got. But guess what? That’s tooooo fuckin way late. If he do that sooner, much sooner, we are at least a contender of ucl spot if not scudetto.

How come mazzari didnt trust yongster? Juan always in the 1st team until he got injured. Taider was always a starter in the begining of the season until he drop his form. Icardi was injured. Kovacic wasnt playing good everytime he is on the pitch until mazzari put him on the bench and teach him one thing or two. Botta still dont get used to the tactic.
They are still young and naive. If he plays every match eventhough playing badly they wont grow. Now u see how kovacic grow after mazzari nurture him on the bench. And also icardi.
For other youngster (taider botta) lets see if they can follow Juan Kovacic and Icardi. I believe taider and botta got the potential to break the 1st team. Just the time is not now. Next year they will be.

I think with 2 new wingers, 1 midfielder and 1 striker we can get 2nd or 3rd place next year. With this squad Mazzarri make the best we can, we have only 6-7 defeats what you want with this middle table squad i don’t understand???? Get Dzeko, get Hamsik and 2 wingers, sell Alvarez, Guarin, Kovacic, Belfodil…. give Cambiaso and Samuel + 1 year … thats my point of view 🙂
sell kovacic ? to get hamsik? i’d rather fire mazzarri then selling one of the most talented players who wore Inter’s shirt. Kovacic has like 10x bigger upside than Hamsik.

You guys are way too harsh on Mazzarri. He did an admirable job this year considering how poor our team is. Stop thinking you know better than the coach because this is the guy that took napoli from the bottom of serie to 2nd in 4 years. Its fine to disagree with him, hes obviously made mistakes like any other coach, but you cant expect our team to be doing much better than they have this year
agreed, mazzarri’s first season shouldn’t be his last because he didn’t deserve that. solid on table, solid displays (still not constantly) and another reason is that inter just started to become more used to his formation, plus we’ll see some signings in the summer. apart from vidic, we need some quality striker …
Yes, you gotta give it to Walter for steering the team to 60+ points on a season that saw a change of ownership. That is admirable. Also, his wishes were not fulfilled by Moratti in the mercato…not until Thohir stepped in January. BUT there is no denying that Walter does not have good interpersonal relationships with the players. I can stand him for 2-3 years but not more.
You can see his relationship withe the players is broke. He doesnt even celebrate the goals. I hope he quits after the last game

I don’t think Mazzarri screwed up in that game at all on the surface. The Argentine treble heroes all played except Cuchu who was suspended. Kovacic got 3 assists and was motm. Icardi got a goal. Hernanes too and he displayed style by not celebrating.
So what is your problem?
Kovacic 3 assist are the first time in serie-a history, and 3/4 or 4/5 of his time he’s a sub. If he played much more we could be at better, Mazzarri are just too late. And he is late about Zanetti too, not playing him in his last derby is unforgiven! And so on and on, the reasons that some fans are tired of him. And we are not the type who defend when the result are good and mad when bad result. Just being objective and he is just not worthy. But Thohir are saying his decisions too, so be it. Bitter, but I support the team not coaches, so WM stay or not isn’t matter.
