The President of Cagliari, Tommaso Giulini, spoke to the Corriere dello Sport. The former member of the Inter’s Board of Directors, of course, could not avoid being asked about the state of Inter.
Giulini, you entered the world of football in an elegant and delicate way, almost like “Moratti.” Are you afraid of being run over by other characters with a completely different style?
“In the end I think that football is simple: a game. And as a business, easy to manage: there are many other sectors that are more complicated. In football you have to bring simplicity, serenity, and you have to like sports. All of this is lacking, there is climate that often too tense. I would like it if I can bring back the fun, not just through Zeman’s style of playing but also by a return of the families. The sport needs this. When people say “nice rugby, it’s the third period,”I wonder why it does not happen in football? It ‘s always a sport. I want to fight for this idea.”
As a fan of Inter, who was your idol?
“Now I am a fan of Cagliari and Inter… Of the last years at Inter, I would say Samuel: a guy who has given so much to the dressing room and not only that, he was the main architect of the treble, although he does not talk much.”
Do you think unfair what happened with Moratti?
“I don’t think his choice was strange, we are talking about someone who has been patron for the last 18 years and decided everything with a great charisma. Massimo was a leader and it’s hard not to be that anymore at your own home. His position, like that of his son and Ghelfi, was uncomfortable with the decisions taken by the new majority shareholder. From Thohir I have never heard negative comments about Moratti, maybe there was some comments by some of his co-worker that could have been avoided. Even Mazzarri could have addressed things in different ways to those who chose him, and I repeat: those who chose him at Inter.”
Could Moratti, with Saras, become a partner for the stadium of Cagliari?
“Yeah, good idea. The Saras is the company that has the highest percentage of GDP in Sardinia, the largest refinery in the Mediterranean. It would make sense to give back something to the territory from which you received it. It may be one of the potential partners, and if Moratti one day were to give us a hand, it will all be in the sunlight.”

They never put me to sleep unlike inter games……inter games are so boring i can’t even drink a bottle of wine during the game otherwise i will fall asleep !!
