According to Daily Express (among others) in England there are several teams lining up big offers for the Inter star.
Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea have been interested in the budding star for some time now. They see the youngster as a possible replacement for Didier Drogba once he retires in the summer. Liverpool have been reported to be ready for an offer near €40 million for the 21 year-old Argentine goal poacher come this summer. Chelsea could rely on Mourinho’s influence with his former club and would match any potential Liverpool offer.
Meanwhile in Spain, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is negotiating for Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez. The Colchoneros have an eye on the former Sampdoria attacker themselves. Simeone’s club would be willing to include Suarez in a deal with cash for the former La Masia youth player.
All eyes are now on news regarding how contract extension talks with Inter go for Mauro.

Editor’s note: Icardi currently has 10 goals in Serie A this term. He has scored a striking 19 goals and five assists total in 40 appearances for Inter. In all competitions since starting his professional career two and a half seasons ago, he has a goals per appearance record of 0.42 or 42%. With 29 goals in 72 appearances total in Serie A, that becomes 0.40 or 40% goals per appearance since going pro, with a goal ever 167 minutes in Serie A. He has a goal every 143 minutes in Serie A since signing for Inter, which translates to a 0.63 or remarkable rate of 63% goals per 90-minutes. All by the age of 21.
It is easy to see why so many big teams are after him. With the right service, he could easily become one of the greatest strikers in the world.
What do you think about the interest in Icardi? What kind of offer would it take for you to agree to letting him go? What kind of offer do you think Inter management would see him go for? Comment below.

i prefer to sell icardi fo 40 mln and take someone like zaza and save osvaldo, also there will be some cash to bring suarez from atletico
Love the kid. Wouldn’t like to sell him because he can become a legend at Inter. That’s from fan side prospective.
But from management angle, it’s a great business. Wouldn’t sell him under €45 that for sure. See if we can’t get those money now, then let’s wait for the next transfer window or maybe two! But the kid have a lots of quality and potential.
Put them on scale both of the angles, I would keep him. He is young. Sell him maybe in 4-5 years… We can still get our profit as he would be 25-26!!!
I don’t think he will accept going to Chelsea where he will eternally be in the shadow of Diego Costa. I think the boy wants to play above all else, or at least go to a team where he has a chance to fight into the starting lineup.
Atleti just got Torres back, and Mandzukic is the starter there. If they want to give us Mandzukic + Suarez, I’m good. But they won’t.
As for Liverpool, I think he won’t really fit in there, as Liverpool want a more versatile attacker, not a classic striker but rather something between a striker and a forward. Icardi is growing into a classic striker, so I think it’d be a mistake for them.
All in all, as long as Icardi doesn’t want to leave (which could change if we don’t improve our results), Inter is the possible team he can be in right now. He is in a big club which is investing in more players of his caliber and he is in the spotlight.
I would also sell Handa to Roma for 30mil (?) and get Neto (Fiorentina) – he’s only 1 notch less as good as Handa, but he’s only 25 and will be Inter project for the next 7/8 yrs so it is the way forward. Use handa fund to support the club on other needed things, not necessary 1st team players but may be we can keep our promising & talented youngsters & loan them not forcing ourselves to sell them – this way we can become productive team, but we do need the right leadership in the team ie, team manager, and the right discipline, at all time to be continuously productive.
I would sell him, but NO LESS than 40mil. Then may be we can keep OSVALDO for another 3 yrs, partner him with Poldi up front (if we do decide to play with 2 strikers), then find a replacement for Palacio, buy/BOSMAN for Koly in summer 2015. Use Icardi funds & sell of Guarin/Kuz/Naga/Rano/Obi/Krhin/M’vila etc..ie, any deadwood/not good enough, to strengthen mid/CB/RB or/& LB (if Dodo is not good enough?).
I would like Thohir to give Mancini the end of 2016 to deliver Scudetto atleast, if he fails but succeeded in getting Inter to UCL – I would still let him go and get someone with a strong minded with a lot of motivation/determination/disciplines ie, R.Koeman – an UCL champion candidate & a real leader.
Only sell him when you can guarantee a world class forward with that money. A. WORLD. CLASS. FORWARD
A world class forward won’t arrive for any less money than what we want for Icardi, or at least he won’t have the same quality in the moment he arrives.
I wouldn’t sell Icardi right now, don’t think we can get anything more than 20/25 mil, and that isn’t enough to reconstruct the team.
But I’m afraid we might have to sell him next summer due to financial reasons.
Icardi will get a bidding war which will probably reach 40M (chelsea love using their money) but I am against selling him… he is inter’s future

He will only get better and more valuable so no sale. If he’s worth 40MM now having had minimal service. What will he be worth after 2 – 3 years of quality service from Kovacic, Shaqiri & Podolski…
It’s hard to say no to 50 million € + offers, because it could offer us to buy another striker and then reinforce other parts of the team. For anything less, I wouldn’t take him. The main gamble is, we have a striker that is proven to score in Serie A and is only getting better. If we sell him for huge money and buy other players, we could turn out to be a massive flop, somewhat like Spurs after Bale, Liverpool after Suarez and so on.
agree if we can hold on him few more years it would be great
but we can’t ignore the fact that due to the lack of creativity from the teammates, most of the time Icardi is just a ghost. if there won’t be a revolution in the wings / midfield during the summer mercato, we should sell him and look for a striker with different characteristic, someone who is able to create chances on his own
Podolski/Kovacic/Shaqiri is more than decent service, though, it’s probably the best attacking midfield service in Italy, so long as they click. We’ll see soon enough.
Bony was sold for around 35 million and he is not half as good as Icardi Will be….so i say stop selling players for nickels and dimes….do like Zamparini or ADL of Napoli and set a price so high that teams that are Intrested know that we wont give him up for small money….Zamparini wants 45 millions for Dybala why should we settle for less…he has a contract to 2017 and we got time to extend so set the price at 60-70 millions and take in the offers in the summer to evaluate…..i see Gignac and Ayew as a good replacements for free in the summer and we can fish for a another striker and use rest of the money to build a new backline….

Comparing with BPL transfer is really pointless since all their transfers are so overpriced it ridiculous. Take Lallana, Shaw, Bony and such for example.
We can’t possibly expect that kind of money yet.
