Today could be the day that Inter land Gianelli Imbula. The Frenchman is close to the Nerazzurri and the offer from the Italians seems to have met Marseille’s requirements. Here are live updates on Imbula. All times are in CET.
22:25: Le 1oSport reports that Inter and Marseille have just reached an agreement for Imbula: loan with the right of redemption set at 20 million euros. The player will sign with Inter tomorrow, or on the weekend.
21:17: Although numerous sources claim that a deal has been completed, Gianelli Imbula is among the list of players that will be on Marseille’s preseason retreat, as stated on their official website.
19.08 – Gianluca di Marzio reports that Inter’s deal for Imbula is in the final stages. The two clubs are in the final stages of negotiations, and the small details are being reviewed.
18. 27: FcInternews.it reports that Inter will offer Imbula a four year contract. The player will earn 2 million euros per year.
17:50: There has been some recent talk about Marseille potentially selling Dimitri Payet. Today, OM’s President, Vincent Labrune, spoke to L’Equipe about his club’s mercato plans: “We hope that we can sell Gianelli Imbula. Everyone knows that.”
16:55: The official Marseille twitter account just responded from a tweet from a user about Gianelli Imbula, “There has been no announcement yet. Stay tuned on our website.”
16:40: In the morning, French paper RMC reported that Inter and Marseille had reached an agreement for Imbula. The Nerazzurri will take the player on loan and redeem him for 19 million euros. The fee that Inter must pay now is undisclosed. The only thing missing is the final ‘yes’ from the player. Imbula is likely to accept his new destination. As stated earlier, this news was released earlier this morning (CET).
16:14: According to FcInternews.it, Inter’s deal for Imbula will make the Nerazzuri drop their interest for Felipe Melo. The Brazilian was the alternative to the Belgian, but now Imbula is set to join Inter
14:58: Di Marzio: The two clubs [Inter and Marseille] are now going over the final details.
14:01: Pedulla: The green light has been given to sign Imbula. All doubts are gone. The player will be expected in Milan soon.

iF the report from 10Sport is true i’m glad it’s a right and not an obligation of redemption. If we manage to keep Kovacic as well our midfield is gonna be great
yeayyy, I really hope this one wrapped asap!
we will have monstrous midfield, lot of strength and pace with determination.
no more soft and soulless midfield!

2 winger and 1 backup striker, we are ready for next season.
In:
Miranda

Dodò 22
Nagatomo 55
Vidic 15

Obi 20
but, how about Guarin and Hernanes that Mancini LOVED ?
Awesome mercato.. In coming weeks we may heard someone leaving.. I hope kova stay..
I’m not a big fan of the “Right of Redemption” part of the contract. Watch Imbula just wreck havoc this season and then have to leave because they redeem him.
We have the right, not them 😉
Maybe he think of buyback clause
lets hit the ground running, thanks Thohir!!
My concern is that we havent fix anything in terms of experience and leadership in midfield. Yes for defence by miranda arrival. But our mid are too young.. once again, im afraid we will end up like totenham, liverpool, who always signing young talent but zero result. Arsenal have learned and aiming for experienced players, ozil, alexis, and lately cech.
FORMATION OF THE BEST YOUNG GUNGS UNDER 25 IN SERI A EVEN IN EUROPE , FACT NOT EVEN A SINGLE EUROPEAN CLUB HAVE SO MUCH YOUNG TALENTS LIKE INTER. I HOPE INTER BE THE SECOND AS MONACO
I don’t know about you guys, but I feel this Inter like the old Inter of Mancini – a football era where when Inter liked a player, it meant that this player is an inter player automatically. Same thing now, we are really powerful in this mercato, we eat the competition for every player that we want.
Forza Inter, we are waiting for the Champions league!
i feel the same bro !! 😀
hopefully we will win scudetto like old days!!
This pre-season is turning out to be really amazing… Cant wait for August.
My only worry is that this may be a totally new squad, and it may take some time for them to get to start understanding themselves on the pitch. Seems like we are going to get 5-6 new starters. I’m not questioning the upgrade in terms of individual quality.
That’s why mancini asked ausilio to get new players before 5th of july. So they can create chemistry first in brunico and adapt
Agreed, but again one month or so of time may not be enough… Lets hope we don’t get games against Lazio, Napoli, Fiorentina in first 5-6 weeks…
I mention only these teams because we will be in direct contention for spots with them primarily…. Assuming that this quality will easily deal with the likes of Milan (lol) and others easily…
When we start Imbula – Medel – Kondogbia legs will be broken.
This signing might mean that Medel will play more CB than CDM and he have shown that he is good in that position numerous times.
LOL…. just start with the one and only, Melo, then all legs will be broken
I want to see final transfer and kova stay at inter.. kova is inter future.. made him for captain..
Too much Footbal manager or PES 😉 He still has to prove that he has what it takes to realise his talent, while Icardi has already proven.
Well.. He is our number 10.. There is must be a reason why he got the number.. Like Ronaldo, Baggio, Adriano n others.. Icardi is our number 9.. Both of them are other team’s dream but they play with us now..
Mancini want 4-2-3-1. I think 2=imbulla/medel and kondo. 3= salah ,kova ,palacio/shaqiri. 4= ambro/montoya, rano/murillo , miranda/jesus, santon/zukanovic. 1=icardi/palacio
We lost benassi 🙁
for 3.5m 🙂
why?
Remember when Toulalan was our main midfield target? Now, Kondo, Imbula.. my, imagine the possibilities. With Kondo, Imbula, Kova, Shaqiri, Icardi, Murillo, no-one can tell me we don’t have some of the best European talent. Our red neighbors must be shedding red tears, cant wait till our first derby(tim trophy) and oh, if all goes to plan, we can have 5 players worth 50+ million euros. Oh and Bonazzoli, I hope so kuch that he gets time at Sampdoria and he blossoms and we get him back and let him fuck Serie A for many many years. #FORZAINTER !!!
Bonazzoli and Icardi will be amazing together, I hope it happens
what an optimistic pre season for us m/
meanwhile right now, our baldie mafia next door would scratching his bald head that not itch at all while murmuring that the phone call to ausilio to back off seemed like a joke on him right now :-“
His phone call is the trieger for Ausilio to show his best skill.. Poor oldy bald head..
and that is how the baldie showing off his mafia charisma.
yet ended up a shameful failed chapter for him :))
Wow only 2m salary?
Now that we are signing a bunch of players, we should really start focusing on getting rid of the insane amount of extra players we have on our roster. Hopefully we get offers for them lol.
It would be great to get Imbula. I feel like we could play just about any formation with a back 4 line.
Handa
Zukanovic(JJ); Murillo; Miranda; Ambro(JJ)
Imbula(Brozo), Kondogbia(Medel), Kova(Hernanes)
Shaq(Palacio), Icardi, Perisic or Salah
Or if we want to go defensive with two DMs
Same back four
Kondo, Medel
Shaq, Kova(hernanes), Salah or Perisic
Icardi
The possibilities are endless. After this summer I feel like we are going to have a great starting XI every game with solid depth and bench players.
On Imbulla’s Wiki page its reported he has joined Inter
Since wikipedia is so reliable.
Lmao ikr
Remember Belhanda? 😉
I really like how Mancini wants to fully strengthen the midfield. We all know that our strength is strong midfield, it matches with our la beneamata philosophy.. we have the required depth of midfield to compete for scudetto, I honestly a bit confused in deciding who should be the starter.. but I have a feeling that imbula will play in front of defence and kondo in toure’s position (offensive role).. I am actually hoping for a director in cdm position, but this imbula is gold. oh Mancini you musnt waste this kind of fanciness next season !!!!!!
I couldnt wait for start of the next season… damn
Where is that Imissmarcobranca dumb ass so he can say Ausilio is taking us to the pre-Branca Era again and we can laugh at his stupid troll ass.
I excited for IMBULa but it it means we selling Kova we should not sign …we need play makers
i’m still thinking that we need a new forward. to much midfielder
No. 6 midfeilders are enough. Kondo, imbula, kova, medel, brozo and one of either guarin and hernanes will be sold.
hope guarin will gone, kuz , obi too
Other teams shouldn’t mess with our midfield. We’ll kill you all next season!
If mancio plays 4-3-3 , it should be: Kovacic-Kondogbia-Imbula (with Brozovic for altenative). Shaqiri and Salah will join icardi in attacking force.
If mancio wants to put more direct play and balance, he can play his classic 4-3-1-2 with Kovacic-Kondogbia-Imbula-and Hernanes.
The question is where is Medel gonna play?
I guess it depends on the opponent, if we fight with a full defensive team we play with your formation, but against big team and we need to play counter attack, we play Medel in Kovacic position
Medel as CB would be perfect.
I prefer Perisic and Konoplyanka than Salah… hmm
Salah probably will not work out anyway… so relax 🙂
I think with Kova, Kondogbia, Imbula, Medel, Hernanes, Brozovic and Gnoukouri our midfield will be complete. All the others can leave ( Guarin, Kuzman. Obi )

Agree 99% but I would rather keep Benassi rather than Gnoukouri – Inter needs more Italians.
what difference does it make where they’re from?
wait.. I hope Galiani doesnt join our race. You know…. i really hate the war of the bid.

reading OM’s official twitter they also mentioned that Imbula’s twitter profile is fake… meh

so? is it fake news?
according the OM the account is fake for sure… but i don’t think all these transfer rumours were because of one single tweet – hope there’s reality behind all this

FORZA INTER !!!
I think Hernanes will be more important then Kovacic next year
Me too. Hernanes is consistent and experienced, he’s always there and never get lost in the pitch
Only thing is he can’t last 90 minutes he always tails off at the end of games. But he’s a maestro no doubt
Kova has the same problem too, adding to his lack of commitment in big games.
I wasn’t pointing it out as a defense for Kova. But the thing he has goin for him is he’s 20 (21?) and has 10+ years left, Hernanes has 3-5 (5 being optimistic). So Kova has time to change and step up to big stages, while Hernanes cant really get any more fit for 90 at his age, I would assume.
But with the investment so far, we have to get a short term success otherwise FFP will bite our ass in the following years.
I wish he was, but Hernanes has been anything but consistent this season. Had a good last month with us but that was it for consistency.
Hernanes consistent ?? he had 3 or 4 really good games with us by the end of the season and he is with us for 2 years now.
Me too. Hernanes is consistent and experienced, he’s always there and never get lost in the pitch
I don’t think so.. Hernanes has a problem with consistency and already 30.. Kovacic will grow and show us some magic.. He just need some time to prove it and a little bit confident in himself.. That is our job to support him..
Wrap it up and Kovacic is staying, mark my words
Lets hope kova is not going to be sold so we can see this midfield next season
Imbula – kondogbia- kovacic
I really hope so too, Fingers crossed
I really hope so too, Fingers crossed
You thinking a 4-3-3?
If a wide player such as Perisic/Salah arrives in addition to Imbula then hell yes
Or Nani. Some crazy news are spreading out there that Nani can be acquired for just 5-6 million euros this year. Van Gaal does not need him anymore. Nani has an enormous quality as a skillful winger that can play at both sides. However, his heavy wage may scare many clubs, especially at Serie A. Heck, his price tag is much lower compared to Salah and Perisic. Gianluca Di Marzio also confirmed the possibility of Nani joined Inter if the deal of Salah and Perisic were falling.
Guarin?
just sell him
This would be a pure orgasm. I really doesn’t make any sence keeping any of these players on the bench.
The thing with the “inter formula” as it was named by one of the papers, which is loan with option/obligation to buy and the payment is spread for 1-2 years(or more) so the books can be balanced is simply a magnificent idea. Technically the costs are spread through different financial years so ffp can not sanction inter for the total costs paid so far, however I would assume the next transfer markets(January and July next year) inter will not be expecting any more big signings. Therefore, there is a probability of inter not selling any of the valuable players( Kovacic..etc) this summer and mostly dead woods not for their value in the market but to get rid of their salaries, and finally inter must win something next year or at least top 3.
Let the kova riot begin!
Hes staying
What about Hernanea?
Staying too. The one at risk are Guarin,Kuz,obi
Agree with you..
that’s good news indeed.
And i think that Kovacic will still stay with us.Forza Inter
On top of that, from what i was reading Zukanovic is almost an Inter player,we are giving Schelozto + 1million to Chievo
Damn, Schelotto + 1 mio is a Damn good business
Plus we are shedding off the dead weight players as well… This summer fricken rules.
either that or zukanovic isn’t very good… we’ll have to wait and see
Another good point of view.
Omg omg omg it happen guys!!!! Wow our dream pivots is coming this season . but bye kova bye bye kova
Don’t say that…. please please don’t say that…. sob
Say – Bye Guarin, Kuz, Rano, Juan and whoever else…. but not Kova
Its too unrealistic dude! I still hope we can keep kova forever to make the trio musketer kova-imbula-kondo…
fuck yes, i’m more excited for him than Kondogbia, these two powerhouses will give a boost to our midfield we haven’t seen for many many years
“this summer’s gonna hurt like a motherf*cker”
so true…………. august, come fast please
so true…………. august, come fast please
OMG… Whatta BEAST midfield line!!!
Kondo – Medel – Imbula
Anyone remember a powerhouse like this? (Except Motta/Viera – Cuchu – Pupi)
Nope. The closest would be what you mentioned (Motta, Cuchu and Legend). I cannot wait for this season to begin!
But…creativity? if we play the 3 of them we can’t also play Kova and Shaq really. unless Mancio’s been watching Chile recently and wants Medel to drop into a centre back position beside Miranda? That’d be something else… http://lineupbuilder.com/?sk=7jx3m
Imbula is kinda box-to-box CM, and Kondo is something like Pat Viera, so I think playing “4-3-3 with Shaq and Salah/Persisc on the wings”, or “4-2-3-1 with Hernanes as CAM”, we won’t have the problem of creativity.
Btw, I agree with Medel as CB, but I think getting Imbula means selling Kova.
Seems half the fans agree about Kova half disagree. We all hope for the best whatever that might be

i never seen him play, but all these hypes about kondo and him made me hit F5 button every 15 damn minutes!
haha i feel you bro
i watched around 10-12 Marseille games this season (mostly because of Bielsa) and Imbula and NKoulou impressed me the most. i expect great things of him
That was a quick turnaround from the indications we’d pulled out of a move for him just after Kondo signed. If this means we ditch the Melo idea then fantastic though.
I guess it’s bye bye Kova then? :/
I think so.
he is coming on a loan with an obligation to buy
IF we won’t make to CL next season, we might need to sell one of Icardi/Shaqiri/Kova/Kondogbia to make up for the loss
All I needed to see were the words “will make the Nerazzuri drop their interest in Felipe Melo”. Go for the kill Ausilio.
Melo is impossible, because he is out of Tothir’s plan
thank god thohir has good sense!
Melo is impossible, because he is out of Tothir’s plan
I really hope Melo doesn’t join Inter.
We’re really makingnsure this CL spot is guaranteed. I love this Inter Revival, I literally haven’t felt like this in years. Forza Inter!!
Same here bro, same here!
I totally agree
