Spaletti has been doing really well at Roma – a club that focus on youth and that doesn’t really overspends on “star”-players but rather make them into starts themselves, and a club that has been under the same regulations as Inter due to the FFP.
He has experience from abroad and is good at changing tactics;either with playing 3 at the back which he has done many times or with playing his 4-2-3-1 in a more defensive, counter atticking way (4-5-1 if you want) which f.x surprised De Boer when he meet Roma this Fall. Inter had all the ball posession in the world but Roma were counter attacking our asses out of the stadium. This is something I haven’t seen from Pioli- to tactically “mix-it-up” once and a while!
Plus Spalletti fits the Suning profile perfectly; he plays an attacking very attractive kind of football and a system 4-2-3-1 which Thohir and the club loves. Besides he is used to work and to do GREAT with youngsters and he is Italian. The only thing is; if he comes in this summer Simeone won’t! No one is prepared to sign a 1-year contract with us for sure, so if Simeone is the true target (which I really don’t undertand due to his defensive kind of football) we should keep Pioli!
