Former Inter player Ze Elias spoke to ESPN on Gabigol: “The continuous statements from Wagner Ribeiro [Gabigol’s agent] are only hurting Gabriel. He speaks here in Brazil, but the sentences arrive in Italy, and who is living in Italy? the boy, on which these words have an effect. Gabigol is adapting, he is a young player, they are preparing for the future.”

Sell him to falatasaray for 40million and get rid of this bidone… 2 brains cells, one leg, huge ego. He shuts up because he knows he can’t cut it at this level. Coming on in the last minutes and doing some circus tricks… ok kerlon!
Everyone’s impatient and no one is willing to give a chance. Sad.
Wise worlds by Ze Elias – and frankly I’m getting a bit tired of this overrrated buy and his agent…. if your good enough you get playing time, if not Eder will! Simple as that!
Nah, I don’t rate him high, but still I got to give it to him that he’s been pretty respective to our club considering the situation he has ended up. Most of the blame is in any case is on our management/club. I think he’s a big flop and will never be a star, but the situation Inter and Gabigol are is just unreal.
He’s 20years old and I guess he still have time to learn. But his proble is he is so one-footed – he’s like a very cheap version of Robben… but let him leave on loan (for Sassoulo as part of the Bererdi deal) and let him show the world what he’s got…
Yeah…worst buy this season…simply because the money…
How do you want him to develop into “being good enough” without getting playing time? Its like he has been awful in the few minutes he has played. Its pretty silly to think that he couldnt have done just as well as Palacio and considering
And please stop using words like “overrated” when you clearly dont understand what it means. A player cannot be overrated when there isnt a basis to actually rate him by and in gabigols case he has simply not played enough for anyone to overrate or underrate him yet.
Its pure nonsense what you are writing tbh. Its just typical italian clubs, Inter in particular, to not give playing time to younger players. Unlike the other big leagues, where they put far more trust into giving young players minutes to develop, rather than mostly relying on experience at all times like in italy.
There is sadly still this classical way of thinking in italian football. Instead of renewing itself, it sticks to what what has worked in the oast This is true both about tactical choices and player choices and it obviously carries alot of the blame for the downfall of serie a.

Think you should take a look at our squad: players under 23 and playing much this year:Icardi, Kondogbia, Gagliardini, Mario even Murillo -yes some have turned 24 but still!
Don’t think you’ll find a league where so many youngsters (18-23) get playing time as in Italy- they sure as hell don’t give their youngsters playing time in England! And which youngsters are getting playing time for Real and Barca?
He arrived as a champion who “didn’t need to learn much because he already was a readymade player”- his own words, but now almost one year later he hasn’t started one game-why? Because others are better and provide more work to the hole team than Mr one-leg does!
About playing time- you earn it during the week at training and this year others have been working harder/better than him… it’s as simple as that.
Amen. People are just making excuses for a guy that was supposed to great and turns out he sucks. Even if he has probably hard time with tactics he should have been good enough to get some minutes like Coutinho got even in a better team and as a younger lad(18).
Agree with you all the way, especially the point about a 18 year old Coutinho getting playing tome in a much stronger team than the one we got today. Gabi-one-foot can’t even get minutes in maybe the worst Inter team of all time…
And the funniest thing is that some people here are so delusional about Gabigol that they try alter the meaning of overrated for him. Was supposed to be an amazing talent, but is so bad that can’t get leftover minutes in a quite a bad team. OVERRATED. And there is no conspiracy theory behind him not playing. He is just isn’t good enough. That’s it.
I´m with you all the way!
All the way man. No backing down 😀 I feel quite strongly about this. It’ll be interesting to see who gets the bragging rights in the end. I really don’t see him becoming a player that would be good enough for a team that aspires to be in Europe’s top ten.
No I doubt him as well – that´s why I call him “gabi-one-footed, because he is just as one footed and “one-wayed” as Robben, only in a cheaper version!
If your price tag 30 mil and wage 3,5 mil per year and coaches don’t see you good enough to play left over minutes, then you have been overrated at least by the guys who bought you to Inter.
The downfall of italian football is mostly down to money. But I agree that the league is not the best environment for foreign kids as they have to learn so much about tactics that it is a mindfuck for them. For italian football this emphasis on tactics is a double edged sword in way that it’s harder for youngsters to adapt, but at the same time it’s what makes italian football so great. The national team has won 4 world cups by not being the most gifted but the smartest. Italian coaches are overall the best in the world etc.
I agree with you in the sense that more effort should be made to integrate kids to italian football culture, but how do you do that? They just have to learn to play according to tactics.
Abandoning the tactical approach would be abandoning the heart of the great football culture. I disagree that italian approach to football is the reason of the downfall. That is mainly down money.
I don’t want italia league to become like PL that is a league for dummies, just that some Gabigol can adapt more easily. England’s own youth developement atrocious btw.
Don’t even bother with 3/4 of the people that post here. There are a lot of stupid people here.
Lol well why not ship him off to Liverpool to play with coutinho to notice we should have actually stuck with him and try to develop him? Brazilian check, young check, impatience which fans and management check, history to repeat itself check.
Coutinho was younger when playing – yes he actually PLAYED for us after arriving unlike the older Gabi-one-leg….. we sold him and he’s the worse example of a youngster leaving and making it somewhere else – something every big club have experienced , even Barca who led Icardi go away and others….
Besides we needed the money back then, now we don’t
Two different players check, two different situations check.
