Inter’s Federico Dimarco has been selected in Alberigo Evani’s Italy squad for the upcoming U20 World Cup in South Korea. The full back has spent the past season on loan at fellow Serie A outfit Empoli.
Italy start their journey on the 21st of May against Uruguay before facing South Africa on the 24th and then finishing the group stage with a match with Japan on the 27th.

let’s not treat him like a star yet.. we need to let him mature as a world class player.. don’t put too much pressure on him.. after all calling from u-21 team means nothing yet.. since most of our deadwood was u-21 for their NT too.. remember rano, andreoli and santon!? they becoming nothing!! so keep calm..
Its bit strange we loan two of our young left back, one of the most promising youngster we have, while we have no one in that position. I mean its normal to loan out or bench young striker while we already have icardi as starter, but for lb?
We have bad, really bar fullbacks, but these younsters need playing time. It even looks like they should have been loaned to Serie B instead as Dimarco is behind Pasqual in pecking order at Empoli and Miangue isn’t really playing at Cagliari also. They both are nice promising youngsters who need playing time, but it seems these two teams have loaned them as subs, which sucks big time.
It sucks true, but it is also a part of their learning process. Now they really need to fight for their spot in the team their at and surely DiMarco will learn alot from getting playing time once and a while, while Miangue also learns from being away from Milano living in Sardinia where he´s fighting with Cagliari for relegation.
Sure they learn a lot about sucking it up and sitting on a bench at those clubs, but that same thing they could have done at Inter. Serie B is fine for the youngsters, Vieri and Inzaghi for example credited a lot to their growth to fighting and grinding at that league. If it’s bad for Gabigol to sit on a bench then why is it suddenly good for these two guys to be doing that at Cagliari and Empoli?
Welll to only sit on the bench isn’t good for any one, but Dimarco is playing once and a while. But both have just finished their “career ” with the primavera team and now are taking the next step into professional football, whereas Gabi came from two or 3 seasons (?) from playing in the highest level in Brazil and had already made his debut with the national team, so he should of course play all the time (more or less) – besides he’s older than DiMarco…
Yes, let’s give the playing time to Yuto NagaFuckitomo, cause he will surely deliver. And ship the youngsters…
Yes…even Bessa and Mira are now out of the radar and they already 23 years old probably nowadays…
Let me explain is in simple words.
A) He get’s regular playing time away from us. With us, he’d begetting garbage minutes in Coppa Italia matches.
B) The pressure at Inter is too much. When the entire team is struggling, how can you expect some young kid to keep his head together. Media analyses everything about everyone at the big clubs.
C) Look what happened to Miangue. One average performance & he was relegated to our bench. People forgot what he did against Milan. Also, one bad performance & our own fans would jump on him. “Why are we playing kids, etc.?”
It’s rare for kids at the big clubs to stay at the club. Maldini & Totti are a rare example because of being a generational, probably the greatest ever left-back. Mostly, kids go our to play regularly.
A. Theyre not getting much playing either in their current club so it such waste policy. I doubt that cagliari or empoli have much worse lb than us.
B. Agree, but look at milan. Theyre club with history like us n strugling in years like we do but still they’ve balls to give 18yo goalie as starter, n also some others names. I mean when you have nothing to lose, thats the best time to give chance for youngsters to play
C. Thats our problems as fans, were the one who should change our Expectation, no need to add pressure to them. Its better to see them make mistake with high chance to progress in the future than see some decent players who already touch their limit.
this guy will be a beast if he keeps on working hard 😀 he is one of the best fullbacks in my 5th season on Football Manager 17 😀
Don’t stop his development..
For sure and keep him his development in mind to bring back to Inter, most importantly he needs big challenges, so get it loaned to a more competitive club sqaud where will fight to be better and be a starter, I would like to see him with the likes of Lazio or Atalanta, but don’t send abroad, because he might learn a different style that may not work well in Seria A environment.
Looks like it very badly. Even multiple german sources confirming it along with italian ones. Not 100% sure, of course, but very strong signals that it’s a done deal. Let’s hope he’ll only be a mediocre player for Milan.
