Steven Zhang, the son of Inter owner Jindong spoke to CNBC. Firstly, Zhang sent a message to the Nerazzurri faithful: “You have to have patience and trust in the club, I know the fans love the team with all their heart. The football in Europe is like a religion, people are crazy. Of course, we will try to do our best, and we will do it step by step.”
Zhang, who has been near ever present in Milan since Suning took over the club then spoke on Suning and Inter’s current situation: “Suning is a consumer company, and invest in a football team becomes a door to open at new experiences, new exchanges, new cultures. Then football is football, there are always ups and downs. But you can not change the outcome of the game in a short period of time. The next game is important, especially if you have Inter, a club that has so much power and so many responsibilities. But to be successful I think investing in long-term strategies is the most important thing for this club.”
Inter’s current coaching situation was the next thing Zhang discussed: “Is Conte the right man? Any choice is possible. Obviously the coach is very important for the team. But we need people, players and managers who are and play for the club with the heart and spirit. As a company, where you have to have the best employees. I do not think much about the plans for next season, but where this club will go in the next three, five, ten, years.”
Zhang concluded his interview speaking on whether or not Suning will invest large in the transfer market: “It really depends on the club gains, but it matters more how they want to invest. The most important thing is to invest in facilities, in the Academy and for young people, because we want to have a long-term growth and a healthy club. We want young people to give their best and to have an opportunity to grow and play in the future in first team. I have no doubt that soon the team will play well. It is a huge responsibility, even for me personally.”

if you plan to do that do it like barcelona, with Johan Cruyff as their brain behind all of the plan. without Cruyff vision maybe barca still at the same level with sevilla and valencia now.
and if those sunning plan in 10 years going in Inter, who is the “brain” behind of them all ……?
Get rid of the dead weight sooner than later (as in NOW) – I’d rather see Inter mid table for a few years while building a new team with young talent led by a few experienced veterans with the right attitude, than the current mix of mediocre players and good players who have a bad attitude when things are difficult.
no sh*t, thohir said the similar words, but again where it all have gone? like a dust
But Thohir never had any money to put where he´s mouth is – Suning does!
I like the long-term-planing thinking because it shows Suning is in it for the long road and not just – like it seems at Milan with Liu – for the next 2-3 years time…
He can’t promise a wild transfer window in the summer because that´ll just make all prices on players rise…
yep, i see it and what i implying to is don’t tell us a dream when you know it’s just a dream. we need works better than dreamy words. and this time i really hope zhang keeps his words. fingers crossed!!
Yes me too… we just have to wait and see. But already they have given us Sabatini and the next one should be Oriali and a new CEO, and then a strong personality on the bench (Spalletti I guess). Beside that they have given us a couple of big sponsorship deals with themselves and are working on a couple with some big Asian companies too.
I think they are working nice and calmly on creating a really strong club, management AND squad for the future. Now one thinks we should be ready after this summer to challenge for the Scudetto but in 1-2 years time we surely should.
