I think they want to cut the expenses and his salary maybe is a problem. They can take 6 mln now or zero next year when he will be 33? Аnyway he’s decent passer and very experienced player. Will be useful here for season or two. For 6 mln is no brainer.
Yeah, sell Brozo and one of Medel or Banega now for FFP. Replace with Borja and Luis Gustavo, while saving a lot of money in the process. Then use that money to strengthen other more vital positions this summer and in a year or two replace Borja. Spalletti gets the players he wants, that hopefully are more consistent than the ones above.

Fiorentina should give us Valero + 10M for Jovetic. I’m not excited about signing him, but if Spalletti wants him, we should get him.
