Inter have completed the signing of Borja Valero from fellow Serie A side Fiorentina. The 32 year old Spaniard joins the Nerazzurri on a three year contract following five years at La Viola.
The midfielder underwent his medical on Monday morning and linked up with his new teammates at Brunico, where Inter’s pre-season camp is based yesterday.
Valero is the second addition to Luciano Spalletti’s Inter following the arrival of Milan Skriniar last week and will wear the number 20.

borja is the player request by the coach.. btw, we sign many young players already, and our team is very young.. we need some old and experience too.,.. remember our treble winner team was not a young team.. we need the right combination between young player and veteran.. no team in serie a that won the championship with just young players.. milan just doing what we did last season, and you know the result.. they have a complete new team, they need more time to play as a team than us..
I understand what you’re saying. But a 3 year contract though? I’ll be willing to admit I was wrong if he turns out well, but for now I’m not confident signing him. You have to admit Milan have signed some great prospects, let’s hope they all flop.
I will admit I was wrong in my assessment two months ago and I’m very happy I was wrong.

Very happy about this signing. He is old, but midfield needs experience and leaders and he has consistently performed very well for Fiorentina over the last few years. Spalletti rates him very highly and with the price of €5.5m + bonuses, there isn’t much you can complain about with this deal other than age. I’m sure he can give us a few good years.
Yeah I’m fine with deal since he was requested by the coach, but why 3 year contract tho ? I’d have more comfortable with 2 and option for a 3rd maybe.

he wanted the 3 years extension from fiore and they didn’t agree and it all went down from there, why else u think he was fighting them

Despite his age, then he should be an upgrade over Banega, as Valeros footballing intelligence is higher.
3 year contract is excessive for a 32 year old though.
As far as his playing qualities goes, he is a good passer so we cant expect a fair amount of assists from him. He doesnt offer much in terms of defensive contribution or goalscoring ability though
his tutor to youngster is worth 2 year contract 🙂
