Erick Thohir spoke to Indonesian outlet Republika on why he gave up his majority shareholder position to Suning last summer: “As majority shareholder, it was my job to improve management and performance of the club. Once obtained, I wanted Inter to go further, but we had limitations.”

My face right now.
From a business point of view, he’s absolutely a 100 percent right. He did what he had to do and he did it well. From a fan’s point of view… he’s a not an Inter fan or a football fan, so saying how he “wanted Inter to get to the next level” just sounds opportunistic and cheap.
I don’t unaderstand a hate on him. He is right. If not him we will be shit club for many years…
Agree. He came in and startet to clean up after Moratti´s 20 years mes! The first thing he did was firing Branca and hiring a lot of english speaking people to help the club taking the step into THIS century!
And he replaced the dumbass Dumbzarri with Mancio. But he didn’t spend enough money. We expected him to be like Man City/PSG/Chelsea owners but he let us down. He also didn’t build us a stadium like Palotta
well building a stadium in italy is not easy unless local authority support you like juve when they build their new stadium
I’m not sure if I agree. Juve & Roma have done it, and Inter & Milan also had plans at some point to build stadiums. It is our execution that was poor, not the local laws.
even when Berlusconi and Morati still in charge of milan and Inter tought of building new stadium never come in fruition i think it has to do with local laws
If you excepted him to spend like the “brainless” Moratti you were very wrong. One of the first things he did was to make plan with Uefa over how to break even in 2017+ 2018, he also stated the club would from now focus on youngsters plus that his favorite system was 4-2-3-1, meaning he had a plan and a vision for the club – something we have NEVER had before!
The stadium was an idea he talked about and tried and the plan was to let Milan build their own and then we would have San Siro for ourselves and we would then spend money to renovate it. But that plan collapsed because Milan couldn’t get the go-ahead from the city council…
when Thohir realized he needed more money that he could bring in through Tv-revenue and merchandise and sponsorship deals, he didn’t do what Moratti did- simply sell to the only one showing interest but he went to a huge, world wide American broker who got him a couple of offers from huge companie, and Thohir picked the riches and the best offer for the club – the offer from Suning how is a giant!!
He really loves to make himself sound like he saved the club.
“I found suning bla bla bla”.
well.. he actually did my friend… he has good business sense… he brought in his expertise and connection to the chinese big boys… if you think moratti would have done that … something is wrong with you…
He did save the club.. We’d be fighting relegation if brainless Morratti was still our president.
Shut up you fucking piece of shit. What’s the point of your interview. Short fat idiot I can’t stand your face
he helped got rid of our debts… helped us get Suning who is now able to buy more better players… how is that not helping us? he put is in a position in which we can compete with the big boys again… dont expect everything to suddenly be alright.. building a great team needs time.. especially with the constant change of managers..
Yet you’re here commenting. Hats off to your hypocrisy.
