I %100 believe him.i would do the same if i was him and its what any smart coach would do. This guy has played only one season in Europe, And has switched teams already. this isn’t FIFA. Most Players need to adjust to a new Team and League before being comfortable with tactics (especially because tactics in italy is a bigger deal than other leagues) , With world class players being the exception of course.
Spalletti works with the team every day on the training ground. If he thought Nagatomo was ahead, then he was ahead. And Nagatomo didn’t disappoint us in the opener.
Noone mentioned Nagatomo being perfect as the real reason behind Dalbert’s benching experience.

I liked how the team played during our first serie a match this season. It truly showed unity and chemistry between the teammates. So I don’t think either of them should be benched as the team already understands each other and can give instructions even during the game for the new players. In the end of the day practice makes perfect, and the only way to do that is on the pitch.

What was written in that book of icardi was a bit much. Obviously the curva would be bitter about that, I think anyone would. I was dissapointed by what he had said but he has grown so much since then, he as a captain should find a way to make amends for that.

I agree that Nagatomo is not something special but against Fiorentina i saw some positives in his game, i’ve never seen them before. He has good long passing and he made few decent lobs, one of which caused the penalty. And i think this is because of Spaletti. It seems like Nagatomo has some skills but he was totally wrong used by our previous coaches. Also don’t forget that Italian coaches hardly trow the newcomers on the pitch immediately. Allegri has done the same in Jube, just like Montella in Milan.
Dude, I saw the improvements as well. But he almost made an assist to Fiorentina as well. His crosses were all $hit, and he can rarely win one-on-one duels (just look at Miranda or Skriniar to know what winning duels means). He’s 30 years old and doesn’t even have the starting position in Japan’s national team (ranked 53rd in FIFA)
